when someone of notoriety makes a comment.....and then later recants it or makes a public apology.
I think a person should be allowed to speak his/her mind honestly. I think a person should be able to answer a question, without having to be so PC.
I am almost 100% certain that when someone apologizes after these comments, there is little to no sincerity in it. The person has not changed points of view nor is the apology worth a hill of beans.
The sad thing is, the same public that ridicules the comments spoken under the first amendment, also except a hollow, superficial apology.
The way I see it, if you don't want to be ridiculed for your stance on a certain topic, don't say a word. However, if you do speak your mind, simply own up to it and stick by your guns. Do not waiver on your stance or give a bogus apology.
BTW....this thread came to me as I was reading about the Skins players apologizing for Portis and bashing him for his comments.
While I may not agree with his comments, he has his view on things, and I can respect the sincerity in his opinion.
