It said on NFL Network that if he doesn't re-do is contact he will be released, if so would he be a good pick up? Would Garrett and Ryan even be interested?

Won't happen.

You're probably right.

But I would be all over that in a heart beat.

Him and Lee would make a great team.

A.J Hawk is no dud. They're not going to give him the boot. If they do I would pick him up in a heart beat.

What?

Hawk hasnt been #5 overall pick good, but he's hardly an "utter flop"

Couldnt agree more

That entire Ohio State trio has been an utter flop.
Trio? Who was the other one, Laurinaitis. He hasn't been a flop and like 30YardSlant said Hawk hasn't been like a top 5 but he isn't a flop either.

The other guy was MLB Anthony Schlegel, I believe he was taken in the 3rd, the Jets took him. He was WAY too stiff to be an NFL player. He might have lasted 2 seasons.

Yep, it was Schlegal, the jets fans nicknamed him "Boar hunter" because of his proclivity of that past time, which also happened to be the only thing he was good at.

Exactly. I know it was Schlegel(I am a Buckeye fan) but he was never highly considered like the other two. Laurinaitis was a backup to Barbie in 05 and started the game at Michigan and the bowl game against Notre Dame alongside Schlegel and Hawk after Barbie got hurt so that is why I thought he meant Laurinaitis as the 3rd linebacker

I know he plays in all their nickel packages. Might be a great fit for just that reason.

Hawk played well this year. He's never been an effective blitzer, however, is a good run stuffer and isn't half bad in pass coverage.

I think overall he is an above average 3-4 ILB. People get down on him because coming out of Ohio State, being picked #5 overall, there were some comparisons to Urlacher, etc.... he has never been anything close to a superstar. That doesn't make him a dud/bust.

due 10 mill--not worth that--could resign for less

If he doesn't renegotiate they will cut him, if he's cut how much and how long of a contract do u think he would ask for?

Didn't know it was that much and he's definitely not worth 10 million a season.

He wouldn't get that on the open market.

Thompson is the type of GM that would let him test the open market and once the fair price is established would probably sign Hawk close to that.

What's Green Bay offering if they have?
