The culture of this team needs to change.

I'm not sure having one person reportedly out of shape in April according to an anonymous source indicates a culture problem.
FWIW, Romo's interview this week he reiterated again how significant the team's offseason participation has been with the guys who are in Dallas year round. We've got some issues in Dallas, but generally they aren't with the guys not trying or not working hard enough.

Except for R. McClain. That guy bugs me. I'll be happy when we move on from him.

Offseason workout photos on dallascowboys.com under day 2 picture 10. Guy behind lucky. Doesn't look like a key contributor but looks out of shape

Noticed that cube-shaped person too.

Lucky looks like he's added some good weight/muscle.

If there is no accountability what are we to expect? If a player like Hardy can come here and not respect the head coach or fellow players that only showcases what a cream puff organization our beloved team has become. Your right it sucks.

It's funny you bring up Hardy. He's the Poster Child for bad behavior but not a single thing he's alleged to have done in Dallas caused him to miss a minute of playing time. I find that more than a big ironic.

Right now, he's about the only defensive end option from last year who actually could suit up for week one. How sad is that?

I don't know about you, but if I was paying a guy $5M a year to play a sport, I would expect him to keep himself in shape and conditioned year round. A lot of the trouble these guys run into with their bodies is not remaining consistently in shape. Instead they let themselves go for a few months and then get on savage workout routines that put unnecessary stress on joints and muscles.

Then again, not being in shape and not being in playing shape are two very different things. If this tweet does have any validity, it may be more about a player not being in playing shape.

I don't know man. He was supposedly a guy who kept himself in impecable shape but he showed up obviously thick in the middle and wore down considerably as the season went on. I am not sure I would even trust him to be in great shape at this point.

At this point, I'm settling for 'being allowed on the field'!

If I'm paying a guy I expect him to be in shape and ready to play when gm 1 starts. There is 53 guys on team, even more during OTA/ training camp, they all are not going to be in shape. And not being in shape in APRIL is not news. If they are not in shape then working during 90 degree plus in heat during TA will get them in shape.

Like I said, it's in the players best interest to keep in shape year round. It is also sort of their job to take care of their bodies and remain in peak physical condition. If you let yourself go for three or four months, there's almost no way you're going to get back into peak physical position in time and/or without some sort of injury.

I am not talking about what players do. I am talking about what they should do.

You can see Rolando and Lee doing drills in the Scandrick video. Seems to be working hard and doesn't look out of shape.

And as I said, there job is to be ready week 1. Different players take different paths to achieve that, when you become a professional player you can take your approach.

Oh, now we have to be professional athletes to comment on what we think professional athletes should do?

I guess you can excuse yourself from the message board now.
