At Texas, Golden began the season as the team's No. 2 receiver behind Isaiah Bond, but once the season started, it did not take Golden long to exceed his expectations. My main issue is that mockery and negativity is a sport in and of itself here.
There are players who could save a baby from a burning building and the responses would be “yeah, but …”
And that’s not even hyperbole.
Good post. I completely agree. I’ve said this several times the last couple years but I’m pretty confident if we all met in real life we would be friends even with our disagreements on certain aspects of the team. Cuz at the end of the day anyone who is posting on this site is a passionate fan.I absolutely love this message board. I have been a member here for years and I love speaking to my fellow fans about everything Cowboys, the good, the bad and the ugly.
Having said that, the polarity of this place is becoming extremely toxic and unreasonably contentious. It seems like that so many here don’t like people who don’t view things the same way that they do.
Some view EVERY move the Cowboys make as wrong. Some have a sunshine view of every move. I can see why those extreme factions have trouble with each other, but the truth lies somewhere in between.
I guess my thought process on this post is how about just being a little bit more civil with each other? I am quite sure that most everyone here (including those who always look for the bright side) are frustrated.
I know that I am frustrated with the Cowboys and last year I became as frustrated as I have ever been with the Cowboys. But that doesn’t mean that I am going to go out of my way to complain about every move that they make.
Some of the minor moves that they make will be positive. Maybe we will have an epic draft. Maybe we won’t. But I’m not going to assume the worst before it even happens.
It’s ok to be realistic. It’s ok to be negative. I think some of that is definitely appropriate, but let’s at least be civil in conversation with each other. There is really no need to just attack everything someone says because you don’t like them or agree with how they view the team.
A majority of the people here have opinions about the team that CHANGE from day to day or week to week. Views should change a little as the team evolves.
I don’t think that Dak is the guy to lead us anywhere and I don’t understand why the Cowboys paid him what they did. I don’t think he will get better and I think he is like an anvil around the team’s neck. But I am not going to purposefully be hateful to someone that believes differently than me on Dak.
In short please try to be civil with one another. I know it’s hard right now with so much going wrong for so long, but at least try.
Hi all. My name is Vaq, and I’m a Cowboys Super Bowlaholic. It’s been really hard these last 30 years.I consider it a support group and I’m thankful for it.
The sad thing is i am sure there are a good number of cowboys fans that have actually become alcoholics due to this team.Hi all. My name is Vaq, and I’m a Cowboys Super Bowlaholic. It’s been really hard these last 30 years.

Then he's not desperate to win.He desperately wants to win it again. He just doesn't know how, and refuses to let someone else do it for him
Looks to me like you're the one whining. Empty life, hey? Those that always complain and whine are truly foolish and most likely don't have anything else going on in their lives
or he thinks nobody is as capable as him. Then he's not desperate to win.
Are you expecting a nutball to do logical things?I question how desperate he is. He clearly is not desperate enough to do ANYTHING to win.
^ This.or he thinks nobody is as capable as him.
We do have the option to skip over repetitive posts. And, for the record, this fall will be 30 years since making it to and being successful in the playoffs. Frustration does that to a fan base that is accustomed to success.I have thought about this for a while.
Why do posters need to start the same thread over and over again. We get it, Dallas hasn't won in 28 years, yada, yada, yada. The common demoninator is Jerry. We could wish all we want but Jerry isn't going anywhere. We all can only wait for death to see any change happen. That the reality of the situation. We all just have to live with it, till we don't.
On the operation of the team, if your just realizing that Dallas doesn't do free agency that they build though the draft. I don't know what kind of fan you are because this has been going on for the last 10 years at least.
If you expect Dallas to splurge on top level free agents, that's you projecting your beliefs on how the team should be run. Not rooted in reality. If your pissed that Dallas only signs depth pieces and bridge players till they draft a starter, that's on you.
All I ask is that you learn your team and stay rooted in reality. I would like the team to operate differently, but that is fantasy, wishful thinking, because it will still be run the same.
There's more but I would be getting in blueblood70 territory.
I do skip over these threads. Some are in the title and others you just have to read the first couple of lines to get the gist of the post.We do have the option to skip over repetitive posts. true. Though is it nuts or dementia? Are you expecting a nutball to do logical things?
Jerry Jones is neither crazy nor suffers from dementia. Football stupid is a reasonable third option.true. Though is it nuts or dementia?
or both?
Deep long standing psychological issues now influenced by cognitive declinetrue. Though is it nuts or dementia?
or both?
Everybody at his age has some element of cognitive decline.Jerry Jones is neither crazy nor suffers from dementia. Football stupid is a reasonable third option.
Cognitive decline happens in many age ranges. There have been and are people who are in their 80's and above who are as mentally sharp as people in their 40's and 50's.Everybody at his age has some element of cognitive decline.
Football stupid plus deep seeded psychological personality issues is a bad combo.
I am well versed on the physiologic changes and issues of cognitive decline in that agegroup.Cognitive decline happens in many age ranges. There have been and are people who are in their 80's and above who are as mentally sharp as people in their 40's and 50's.
That said, it does not mean Jones' cognitive faculties have not regressed to a degree. However, I would advise anyone to compare Jones' speech and recall he has demonstrated today with video of him speaking and elaborating on subjects from the 1990's. In my opinion, there is very little difference in his communitive and expressive patterns--although age has impacted his speed of delivery, which is definitely a common trait of aging.
What should never be forgotten is Jones' resume prior to him ponying up $90 million of his own money and borrowing $50 million to buy the team. His football 'expertise' was strictly limited to playing college football in the mid 1960's. He never expanded on his knowledge of the game from that point to the time he purchased the franchise.
Any sound insight he gained from Jimmy Johnson to managed football operations was little to none. If that were a false assumption, Jones' knowledge of the game would have resulted in better results over a period of DECADES after Johnson's influence had waned and disappeared.
It is far easier for observers to proclaim Jones as senile and mentally decrepit. People do that every day. It is much harder to people to accept the alternative:
He is not smart enough to assemble the correct mix of coaches and players who can actually (not pretend) compete for an NFL championship from within the professional environment he maintains. Jones is not the first subpar general manager that the league has seen. He will not be the last one the league will ever see.
Fair enough.I am well versed on the physiologic changes and issues of cognitive decline in that agegroup.
Frequently initial signs can be subtle including emotional outbursts and self control issues, along with the declining ability of introspection. This he definitely cannot afford, as he doesn't have a high baseline
But more contributory to the current state of the team, his long standing personality issues and lack of football insight have caused great harm
