and how does TO "fix" that with a guarantee?

he doesn't anymore than shelling the team and revamping it. carolina went from 5-11 to 11-5 in a few years W/O the wonderful miracle giver we've come to know as TO.

it can be done and it can be done AS a team. the fact so many seem happy to get TO as an "instant win" tells you how tied up in knots parcells has this team on his "final run for a ring" he's going to fall well short of.

if you can blow the smoke away and look at it realistically - sure. there's a chance TO can help us win games. now look at his history with equal credit to his "bad" side (they go hand in hand) and there's a very good chance he can tank the effort and it all blows up in bp's face.

i agree you gotta roll the dice but it should be on safer bets and better planning, not praying for 7's on a random throw.

you may win, sure. but odds are you're gonna be left at the craps table with a hell of a bartab and a few giggles from the bystanders who were not blinded by the promises of an arrogant fool.

Thats where we disagree I do not feel its that big of a gamble and frankly I'm have seen nothing to tell me we are ready to take that step. TO might not get us over the hump be we will at least be exciting on offense again with a legitimate proven threat that teams have game plan for.

2 years ago philly didn't see it as a gamble.

unfortunately it's human nature to only realize the fire burns after getting burned personally.

to date i blame the mess TO was involved in mostly on management.

mooch is a clown and the 49er organization the worst in sports.

philly & donny was a mismatch from day 1 who pretended otherwise... no chance at harmony there plus he was underpaid. they knew it was a gamble and it almost paid them a Lombardi (if mc chunky didn't choke yet again)

Everyone is Quick to say That TO destroyed 2 teams lets look at numbers.



San Fran a team in cap hell with a coach that has been fired from 2 jobs and a QB that has not kept a job since he stoped throwing to TO. I think Donahue and the new ownership destroyed that team.

Philly a team with an injured QB, no running game and a D that was not good all year and coming off the dreaded superbowl losing curse "The next year the losing team usually miss the playoffs". In retrospect Philly was not a very good team this year with or without the TO situation. What was Philly going to do last year anyway with Mcnabb hurt and no running game they were suspect to make playoffs anyway.

So how long does this curse of TO last if Philly bounces back next year how did TO destroy them, they still in good cap shape and they will be in the running next year for the NFC so whats the big deal?

You win the prize! When the media don't like a player,everything is fault, all the injuries, the bad drafts, letting quality players like Cory Simon go,etc. When the team is doing well, the coach is a genius, when the team sucks, it's the players fault,especially the ones that the fans or media or coaching fraternity don't like. Everyone criticized us for passing on Kevin Jones and Steven Jackson, yet stood mute when the Broncos and Eagles passed on them also.

I personally think the guy seems to have the mentality of a 5 year old. I don't want him on a team of mine. Will it cause me to stop rooting for the team? No. Will it lessen what I think of the team while hes here? Yes.

TO acts like scum, and people want to forgive him because hes talented. Personally I think Talent and garbage allowed are intrinsically tied. The fact that TO has reached the breaking point on two teams in 4 years, with his talent, says all that needs to be said.

Sorry, but one man CAN destroy a team. I'm not saying that's what happened with TO, but it CAN happen.
