Lets take a position by position look, and see what some of our needs may be next offseason. I believe its important to always be looking ahead.

QB: Rush has looked significantly better than lasr preseason. White however hasnt looked like an NFL QB. I think a vet may be more likely if they are looking to replace Rush as a backup, but a day 3 QB pick could very well be a possibility.

HB: After Elliott signs and extention, the top two should be set for the next 4 years with Pollard under a rookie deal. Any 2020 looks will likely be a late day 3 flier.

WR. Tough to project as far as any possible 2020 needs goes. This is definitely a " lets see what we have first" position. The #3 WR spot will likely be vacated next offseason, which opens the possibility of draft capital within the first four rounds being spent there. However we also have in house candidates for that spot in Cedrick Wilson and Devin Smith. If either or both make the roster, those are two guys to really watch this season.

TE. You have two young players in Jarwin and Shultz that have some ability. Jarwin was able to produce a bit last year, and could be an even more effective receiver this year. However he is a poor blocking TE. Shultz looked better last season when he some consistent playing time after Swaim went down. However it remains to be seen if he can be enough of a reciever to be a true #1. Both these players compliment each other, but I can see us taking a more rounded TE in the first couple rounds in 2020.

OT. Another interesting position to watch. Collins likely departs next offseason. The plan appear to be to move Williams over and start McGovern at OG. If they are confident that will work by the time the offseason comes around, you probably wont see an OT until day 3 if at all. If they arent confident, OT becomes a possibility (even a probability) on day 1 and 2 of the draft.

OG/OC. They seem well stocked here even if Williams is successfully converted to OT. Shouldnt be a need expect maybe a day 3 player for depth.

DE. DE is a real position to watch this season. Quinn is only under contract for 2019. No one knows what will happen with Gregory. If the option isnt picked up on Charlton, than 2020 is his last year under contract. DE could very well be taken day 1 or 2 next year

DT. We drafted Hill, however it is also a walk year for Collins. 3T could be a priority next year even with drafting Hill. Int ruth you want 2 capable pass rushers from the 3T so you can play both those gaps on passing downs. You draft another 3T with Hill and they are both probably on the field 60% of the time. Dont discount looking at another 3T high next year.

LB. We have our top 2 locked up for the forseeable future. Lee is more of a question, but we seem to have some depth there. Although im not sure of Thomas's 2020 contract status. I doubt LB gets more than a day 3 look next year.

CB. Another interesting position to watch. 2 of our top 4 CB's are not currently under contract for 2020. And the other 2 of our top 4 CB's will be going into walk years in 2020. Ill just let that marinate.

Safety. People rage about the talent level at Safety. However what needs to be brought up is the fact that right now only Woods and Wilson will be under contract in 2020. And 2020 is a walk year for Woods. The safety position next year could get looked at in all portions of the draft

I would say OT, specially with Smith and Collins, we have to hedge our bets, if Williams to tackle doesn't work out. plus Smith is injury prone....so we have to think about future. not saying a day 1, but perhaps a day s or early day 3 investment

I would love to get a quality safety next year. Will the FO think the same? Probably not. :(
