A lot of rumblings going on about LB with the Cowboys

While Collins may be a top 15 player and with a small trade-back, he could be in play, this just doesn't seem like the right move. In fact it feels a bit like an "infatuation" selection.

I don't deny LB is a deficiency and maybe a high draft selection this year sets the table for the release of Kaylin next year. That said, LB is no bigger issue (and I want argue a much less issue) than CB or DL.

If we trade back to, say, 15 and Collins, Barmore and Horn are all available, I am sprinting to the front with the Horn card.

Don't think Horn makes it to 15 and many reputable media scouts think Barmore is more of a 2nd rd player. Heard even Dane say, he wouldn't be surprised if he slips to rd 2 this week. Think many are overrating the prospect.
 
With all this chatter about linebacker being taken early. Haven’t seen any about parsons being up there on their big board.

he must be off with his character concerns. Or they’re just playing it close to the vest about him.

Collins is not a better player than Parsons. it ain’t even close. I refuse to believe this team is going to draft a LB in round 1. But we’ll see. I still think Surtain or Horn are the targets.
 
Collins isn't a top 20 player...hard pass.

I like him in the 2nd but I don't see him as a legit 1st rounder.

Agreed ! No way he is ! Reason why parsons is still number one ranked defensive player in this draft. Honestly I’d take Davis or jok over Collins. But surtain horn and parsons are my top targets

Agreed. I like Collins as a player. I would be fine with him if the cowboys trade down later into the first.

but over Parsons or Surtain or Horn? No way.

Exactly. I can see them stay put grab a corner then jumper back in first late for Collins jok or Davis. Vice versa too. Parsons then trade back in for Farley now that his medical has cleared

As much as I like Collins, this is very true. If we're deadset on getting a MLB, then pick the top rated one who also happens to currently play that position and is an athletic freak in addition to being a solid football player

IF.. And this is a big if.What if LVE is healthy for the most part this year ? You know Neal is going to line up at LB quite a bit. When does your 1st round LB get on the field ? An OL or CB are almost certainly day 1 starters that don’t come off the field. I just don’t see LB as a round 1 priority. But after that it definitely becomes more acceptable IMO.

Agreed, it's hard to find a spot for a rookie LB, in year one at least.

Though I will say, even when healthy, LVE hasn't looked good since his rookie year. So it's possible he just rides the bench
 
Collins might be there in the 2nd, now if you’re taking about getting Parsons, then trading back up ahead of the Pats for Collins, I’m on board with that! I love LBs. Collins looks like a beast, he could lose 10lbs and be just as fast as Sean Lee. Sign me up for 2 first round talents at lb.

that leaves them with Collins at MLB, Parsons at WLB, and Jaylon/LVE at the other. I bet all 4 of those LBs play and could even see Dallas running a 44.
 
What of they trade with NE, if a QB is there, and take Collins at 15? I do not think that is likely because I think NE is going higher than 10, unless they can get Garoppolo back.

I think they get Garoppolo back and are a player for Surtain or Horn.
 
i think we might hit this position hard.
if parsons is there at 10...i wouldnt be mad at all if we got him.
i think the 3rd Rd sets up to be the ideal spot where we nab one...unless a good'n falls in the 2nd.
then i think they strike again...either in the 4th or 6th Rd...maybe both.
we could triple dip at LB....that room needs the numbers.
 
I did a mock simulator where I took Pitts at 1 and Collins with our 2nd pick. No trades were done. In reality it will not happen
 
Parsons has come full circle since draft season sort of ignited. Initially, he was seen as a top 5, potentially generational talent. Then he started to get dinged -- maturity, instincts... began to be slotted more 11-15 by the media folks.

Parsons is now being mentioned again as top 10. Guys like Jeremiah, Brooks, Casserly talking him up. Some of those guys are certainly connected.

Think Parsons is in play.
 
I think the reports of Pitts and Collins are just putt there to try and not make it so obvious that we are going corner at 10 and they are hoping nobody jumps them for Surtain.

I hope so. I’m behind him. But like @CATCH17 said as well this could all be smoke so a corner they like comes to them at 10.
