Yeah we don’t need Elliot, we don’t need them to wear down the defense. LMAO
If Dak is even a bus driver in the 4th, we win easily. This was a dak loss. No excuses.
Yeah Prescott was offsides on the last drive.

We scored 28 points, which is enough. How many have they been averaging to score 31 on us? And, how many penalties did the refs call on that last drive? You can only overcome so much.
Which is why counting stats isn't an accurate way to evaluate. 4th quarter play is much more accurate to judge performance.

Most ignoring and calling LVE a solid player. He was exposed int his game as in others.LVE sucks and sucks bad.

Unfortunately, on run defense that criticism could also be levelled at Micah, he tends to play a lot of run plays as an Edge rusher even when lined up as a LB.

There are ALOT of issues with the line. It would be interesting so see the yards allowed stats of Hankins opposed to Bohanna. The running touchdown was a case of Boh leaving the Center to concentrate on the Guard.... the Center wipes out Micah at the second level.

A serious issue that’s lots of people have been downplaying. Teams run at will on the defense, at the beginning, the middle, and the end of games.
Run defense is the biggest stat but the biggest impact and the reason the team lost was terrible coverage in the secondary.

3 TDs to Watson and the long play to Lazard are the reasons the team lost. Not the run D

Who couldn't see that the run defense, again, would be our biggest achilles heel? LOL.

Jerry ranted and raved after the 49ers loss about changes, fixing our flaws, getting better at stopping the run, etc.

And then went into the offseason and signed ZERO quality DTs in FA and threw a 5th round pick at a DT in the draft. They added no thumper in the middle at LB, passing on a guy like Wagner, instead bringing back LVE on the cheap.

This was entirely and utterly predictable.

This is not on the run D. Did someone misses the huge TD bombs allowed in the passing game?

They ran for 200+ yards. But yeah, the run D wasn't a problem.

LOL.

Small hint, when you start creeping up safeties to help in the run game, it exposes your secondary. Guys like Wilson were playing a lot of run support yesterday and it exposed the flaws in our secondary. So to say the run D wasn't an issue just the pass D is bizarre.

Run defense has been an issue for years. But what people conveniently ignore is the offense that decides to just go on vacation during portions of the game. Started slow, Dak was misfiring all game long, either throws too high, in the dirt and consistently behind the receiver. He had one decent pass all game and that was the TD to Lamb. The offense takes the lead and just turns off the engine and decides to take a nap. Yesterday was as much on the offense as it was on the defense, starting with turnovers, penalties and just ugly execution from the QB to the receivers and OL.

No one on here is ignoring this. We have a lot of weaknesses. Run D and Dak are the biggest

and it's been like this for years ..no matter the DC. ala ..Marinelli....Nolan ... Quinn ....

- No matter the player personnel ...
and cannot keep blaming it on a lack of the big beefy, 330 pound Pilsbury dough boys as we've have the likes of 1 techs Bohanna and now John Hankins.
So what's gonna be blamed next ?

- We were leading the NFL in sacks, heading into GB game.
Are we're sacrificing the run defense, for the sake of gaining a pass rush ?

Wasn't the Marinelli philosophy " stop the run on the way to the QB "
So what's the difference with Quinn now that is supposedly different than Marinelli's run defense ?

What i see similar:
- Not accountable
- not physical
- not discipline

The run D flaws are in part probably scheme but talent is just as big an issue. We are simply not that talented up the middle from DTs to LBs.

I'll have to look but where Quinn's defenses in Seattle, when he was a high flying DC, that poor at stopping the run too?

I have downplayed it, primarily because it looked like qb runs that really killed us. However, I've been proven wrong as time progressed. This run defense is a problem, and I'm not sure we can play such an attacking style defense and still defend the run as well.

Yeah, perhaps people were a little premature to mention "doomsday" and this defense in the same sentence. To me it is like it has been for a long time; when this defense really needs a stop, they can't make the play.
