Some nauseating egals love in this thread.

To hate the very essence of Washington, Philadelphia, and New York...doesn't mean that one also needs to go blind.

First lesson in Viet Nam...never, underestimate an opponent.

I think it's time you stop pretending to be one.

LOL.

This is my favorite part of sports message boards. When you don't poop on one of your rivals, that must mean you are a closet fan. LOL.

Let me be clear. The Cowboys are the best team in the division. But I don't believe the Cowboys are 5 games better than the Eagles like the OP claimed. I think they have more talent than some of the homers think. I am not swayed by the aberration 2012 season (which by the way, most fans here were saying the same thing when Foles was the Eagles QB - that 2012 was an anomaly). Foles is a mediocre QB talent with a limited arm. I am not saying Bradford is about to become Montana or Brady, but with his superior talents to Foles, if Kelly can get that out of Foles and Sanchez to win 10 games two years in a row, I suspect he can do even a bit more with Bradford (granted, if healthy).

Washington Commanders: I laughed when I heard the gushing about how well RG3 played in the preseason opener. They were "so encouraged" by his 4-for-8 performance for 36 yards. Garcon dropped a deep ball, but still, does anyone think Griffin is ready to suddenly command an offense and read defenses? Nope, he'll tuck and run, and that spells doom.

The Commanders, as always, have talent sprinkled about their roster. Pretty good offensive and defensive lines, reasonable skill players, seemingly adequate elsewhere.

The Commanders remain who they are, which was Dallas for a good long while but no more. Dysfunctional and rudderless, with nary a clue from coach or quarterback. More of the same.

I have no idea what to think of the Eagles. When I watched them falter last year, it was often because Sanchez was awful. I have no idea how much better Bradford is, but I know their defense is better and was already decent last year, and Murray is a MUCH better fit for their system than Shady. So it's very wait and see.

Bradford is awful. I second that. I don't think he's going to be as good as what people think. Their defense is what worries me but I agree that they have some holes.

One, the amount of money they spent at TB is largely meaningless in the context of this season. Now if we are talking about what franchise is going to be better over a 3-4 year run, then contracts is a concern. But for this year, it doesn't really matter what Murray and Matthews are making. I suspect they are better off at TB now, than they were with McCoy. Even before they traded him, there were stories that the coaching staff was bothered by the fact McCoy causing so many negative plays with his bounce style of running. And the Eagles were downright awful in the red zone because McCoy wasn't physical enough in short yardage situations.

We shall see if this pays off for the Eagles THIS year. I am skeptical as I believe that their eroding OL and lack of threats in the passing game will mitigate the running game's effectiveness. It will have its week but will struggle, as their offense did last year, against good defenses.

Herremans stunk last year. Mathis, that's peculiar and I agree that it was weird to cut him. That could be a problem for them.
They need to invest in the position and have failed two years in a row to do so. The way that Chip is trying to Jimmy Johnson good players is going to severely hurt his ability to lead.

Again, in the context of this season, them overpaying for Maxwell is meaningless. It's a simple question of skill. Which is a better CB tandem? Maxwell and Carroll or Rowe or Williams and Fletcher? Williams and Fletcher were terrible last year. We saw that up close when Bryant and company were shredding them in December. Belicheck is going to use Fletcher in certain situations, not start him like the Eagles were doing. And the Seahawks can take a chance on a cheap Williams because they have three all pros manning their other secondary positions. They can try to hide Williams. You couldn't hide him in Philly. Dumping Boykin when they did looks stupid in hindsight.
Maybe not but the perceived improvement from getting Maxwell is not much different than what they had with Cary Williams. Seattle is betting that the rest of their secondary will make him look like a world beater. The biggest problem remains is that their scheme was terrible. Last I checked, they still have a questionable DC. While in hindsight the Boykins deal looks bad, I said it at the time that it was questionable.

Rams got rid of Bradford because they just didn't want to take on the injury risk anymore. Plus, the Rams aren't exactly one of the better run organizations. They fact they extended Foles without him even playing, coming off a bad season in 2014, probably isn't a good indicator of their quality front office decision making. Foles is a mediocre talent at QB.
Foles is more than mediocre. He is a legitimate qb with upside in the NFL. The Eagles pulled the plug too soon and based it off of a subpar beginning to last season where their offensive line was in shambles and the running game was nonexistent. Not to mention the attrition of playmakers that started last year... It will be interesting to see who is right about the qbs.

I think Dallas fans are downright delusional thinking the Eagles are some 6-7 win team.

I agree, they are more of a 7-9 win team most likely.

Sorry, but no way in hell do we win this division by 5 games. I hope I'm wrong, but I never am.

The Eagles wont be that bad, neither will the Giants. I expect 10 wins for Philly, 8-10 for New York.

Listening to talking Eagles right now. They're putting them at 13-3 after the Colts game. Therefore winning the Div.

Until proven otherwise, I am not banking on this team two years in a row. The running game and OL will take a step back.

You apparently didn't see Bradford play in St. Louis. He was awful.

You'd be hard pressed to find a QB that played with worse overall skill position players and a worse offensive line.

Bradford's rookie season was outstanding when you consider that he had Brandon Gibson and Laurent Robinson as his starting WRs, Billy Bajema as his starting TE, and Rodger Saffold (a rookie in 2010), Jacob Bell, Jason Brown, Adam Goldberg and Jason Smith as his starting offensive line. He did have Steven Jackson, so that helped, but the rest was hot garbage. Of the above listed group, only Saffold and Gibson are still in the NFL.

And, Bradford managed to have that team one game from making the playoffs. He's fragile, and not an All-Pro, but he hasn't been horrible in his career.

I think it is.

Their defense is the best one they've had since he got there. And I think Bradford is better at QB than Foles, if healthy, in that system.

What's downright hilarious is that when Foles was the QB of the Eagles, this board was littered with posts about how middling and mediocre he was. Now all of a sudden, man, what a terrible mistake it was to get rid of him. Hahahaha.

So you really think Bradford is going to have a better year than Foles did in 2013? 27-2? Very doubtful.

And that's what everyone said about Sanchez coming into that system and look what happened. Fact is, there is nothing special about that system at all. It's nothing innovative or new. You still have to have talent to succeed at QB in this league.
