Yeah, they need to earn a nickname on the field in games that count... however, it has to be Doomsday. Just gotta be.

Of course that is for the whole defense and not just the DL.

Remember the old NFL Films guy when talking about the Bronco's offense in the super bowl saying, "... and they ran headlong into Doomsday."

Doomsday has been done to death: "Doomsday", "Doomsday II", etc. Let them earn one based on the unique talents & personalities of THIS D-line. First, they have to find a 1-tech, or there will be no nickname. Unless it's "Ole", as in wave as the running back blows through the middle because there in no NT to stuff the line.

Don't they have to do something special before we give them a nickname? Unless a NT develops out of the low picks we made, or they acquire a great one, the nickname might be "Ole", as in "There's a big, gaping hole in the center of the line, & the LBs yell "Ole!" as they get blocked out of the picture because there no one on the defense forcing double teams. If we don't start drafting big, athletic, monster DTs who demand double teams, it won't matter who our 3-tech is, because HE will be the one getting doubled. At 285 lbs., that's a pretty bleak scenario.
