A Peterson vs Bush vs McFadden

I love for some McFadden advocates to prove me wrong. Anyone got a McFadden run on video that shows alot of JUKE? The kids got serious speed to burn but does that translate into the NFL.

Some people like Felix Jones....I wonder if he's a product of playing next to McFadden.

Who do you think will have the best NFL career?

Bush may never be a dominant RB or the traditional RB (he may not even be the best RB on his own team). He's a great talent but needs to be used properly like Payton is using him.

Peterson will have a very good but short career I think. He's running style takes too much punishment. I would be dead wrong. Dickerson was fabulous. He should be the odd on favorite to win ROY if his collar bone is ok.

McFadden....well, I have my doubts watching his videos...very straight line runner. Hope he shows abit more elusiveness in his last yr to prove me wrong. But one yr can make a huge difference, either he establishes himself as the premier RB or someone else will surprise and take over the top spot.
Bush will have the best career and is the most likely to find himself in the HOF, imo.

Reggie Bush IMO is the best, he is also the most elusive, fastest and hardest back to stop I think.

Hard to argue with this statement........

Lots of McFadden supporter but can anyone prove his elusiveness?

Maybe he's so gifted it's making these holes look bigger than they are.

He's got plenty of wiggle for the type of runner he is. I like him fine the way he is now with just a little more pure lower body strength.

Exactly. To me he's a more efficient Reggie Bush. He makes just as many long runs without all the backtracking and lateral moves.

To some extent, yes, his talent does make the holes look bigger than they are because he has so little wasted motion.

I understand what you're talking about. And it's kinda hard to judge. He's got those extremely long legs so he doesn't look very shifty. But I can't tell if he's not shifty or just doesn't look shifty.

I think much of the time he relies on his pure speed and that's more than sufficient in college. Whether he's shifty or not is hard to say. For example, check out this clip at 3:51. He cuts outside, but it's not a "shift" or side-step like most RBs would use. He simply turns his hips and runs, then turns upfield. Was it sufficient? Because of his speed, yes, but he wasn't "elusive" or "shifty."

But then look at the play on 2:37 and the one immediatley after. That's exactly what you're looking for. It wasn't a big hole, but he sees the LB and cuts inside, to take it to the house. On the play after he makes a similar cut and run.

And then the best display of his "elusiveness" or "shiftyness" and his speed is at 3:30. That's a fun play to watch.

So, I think the ability is there, he just doesn't have to use it much because of his unbelievable speed. In one play (at 0:44) he leaves LaRon Landry literally flat on his face in his dust. I could live that happening multiple times per season.

Thats not what I mean.

My belief is this...

JJ and MBIII are both young and coming into their prime, therefor I hope they can do an EXCELLENT job this year and give us a reason NOT to need a RB.

Our #1 and #2 WRs are both getting old and will NEED to be replaced in the near future.

So, a new RB could be a LUXURY whereas a new WR is an absolute NEED.

I like JJ and Barber's potential, but I would trade either one of them in for McFadden, most likely JJ

Thanks for the video. What I am afraid of is that he depends on his speed like Tyson Thompson. He gets alot of yds because people misjudge tackling angles due to his speed but can't run well between the tackles the way Emmitt did (very few can do that).

a Dookie Stick?

Gotta admit the Hambrick's left us with some all time classic sayings. Any others from the infamous Hambrick Bro's?

You know who McFadden reminds me of a little, besides Dickerson? Marcus Allen. He wasn't super shifty either, he just sort of slithered through the holes.

Sometimes if you have good vision and feel for where the soft spots are, you don't have to dance around so much.
