Parcells was hired to win, not rebuild. That became apparent to me last year with that awful roster he put together. There is no consistent game plan for the organization..which btw, has been a Jerry hallmark since Jimmy left. It continues.

Yes, this once proud organization has really turned into a turd. It is nothing but a laughingstock really. Bad drafts from top to bottom, fire coaches and coordinators every year or two, buy bum free agents. I don't think they will be better next year either, probably they will be worse. I seriously doubt that this team ever wins anything of significance again. Jerry must've sold his soul to the devil to get that last ring. :banghead:

Well one thing is as obvious as the nose on your face.......as long as Parcells is head coach we will not be developing a young QB and that is a shame.
Amen to that....while Chicago replaced their rookie 4th rounder, Kyle Orton, with their former first rounder, Rex Grossman, last night and won. Grossman looked very good.

Meanwhile, Eli leads NY to the division title more than likely.

Palmer leads Cinn. to a division title....on and on and on.

I have no confidence in Henson or Romo, but the bottom line is that we should either play them when given a game like last night, or we're making a mistake of keeping them as our backups if they're not ready even for that.

Thoughts and statements

1)there have been numerous post where I called out parcells for some real head scratchers... no takers for discussion

2)I expected this type of game sometime this year but I had really expected it much earlier...

3)Do I think we improved the talent...well I am not real sure... what do you think?

in 2003 we had

defensively

RE Ebenezer Ekuban
RT La'Roi Glover
LT Willie Blade
LE Greg Ellis
SLB Al Singleton
MLB Dat Nguyen
WLB Dexter Coakley
LCB Terence Newman
RCB Mario Edwards
SS Darren Woodson
FS Roy Williams

not to bad

If we would have replaced Edwards and gotten a little something else out of the Pass rush via Fa/draft this defense was plenty good enough

so I am not sure how much it has been improved under Parcells its just a different scheme...but we are getting younger so that gives me some hope

OFFENSIVELY

WR Joey Galloway
LT Flozell Adams
LG Larry Allen
C Matt Lehr
RG Andre Gurode
RT Ryan Young (7) Kurt Vollers
(8) TE Dan Campbell
WR Terry Glenn
QB Quincy Carter
RB Troy Hambrick
FB Richie Anderson

I think getting rid of Lehr was stupid and especially for the reason...

but for the most part in 3 years...we have added what to the offense

2 solid guys at RB (I am not sure what to call them yet so I will say they are solid)
not much in the way so far in a FB...We have a young TE that can really catch but doesn't block very well almost to the point of being a liability...still not much in the way of receivers... though they are servicable but I agree with Mike we have a bunch of #2's (crayton, glenn, Johnson)

the o-line has digressed...

and the QB position is still a problem

So does anybody here really see a "significant" upgrade in talent...

remember this was a 10-6 team in 2003 and you are what your record says you are at least according to Parcells...

O line. LB's. And an inconsistant kicker. Put them all together and you have a mess.
But also..... a coach that seems unable to get his team UP for big games. The last time we played really well was the first Philthy game- not since then.

Did anyone ever come up with any ideas or explanations why Henry and Canty didn't start, but were suddenly healthy enough to play in the fourth quarter when the game was out of reach?

I have no idea...wonder if someone in the press corps will have the guts to ask

See, I guess your damned if you do and damned if you dont. I think it was a good call and dont have a problem with it. you cant go for them all all the time. Pick your battles instead of fighting them all and you stand a better chance of winning a higher percentage.

i can go either way with it depending on the overall strategy, but in the end it's a "not to lose" play parcells has done all year. the few times he's played to win, we have and did very well. when he puts us in "grind mode" we self-destruct. in the end i called punting the same as giving up the game and if you're gonna do that, put romo in and keep drew for another day.
