A play we ain't talking about

Minny's first play after we turned it over on downs, toss play that was fumbled. We had no one near the play. What was our D doing? If we were playing heads up with intensity, we would have had a chance at a recovery.

It was stupid Minny ran such a play in that situation. It was lazy we didn't have anyone close enough to make them pay for that stupidity.

It all happened behind the line of scrimmage, and "Minny" was blocking with all available players with no intention to pass. It's not unusual in the least that the defense wouldn't be in the offensive backfield. Plus, it's not as if the ball rolled around and the play was drawn out while "Minny" had to chase it down. It was all over very quickly.

Plays are not always what you remember when watching in real time.

The Cowboys have to hold the line on the play-side. If they start penetrating into the backfield play-side the problems stopping the run would get worse.

Their OLineman did a good job extending his arm into LVE without holding.

Quinn's fall looked really odd but he was not going to penetrate anyway.

Thompson #23 could have done better. Heath probably gets to Cook on that play.

Ball takes funny bounces..That one bounced right to him...if it takes a crazy bounce and back towards end zone could have been a different story.

He was 5 yards behind the LOS less than a second after the snap. It is almost impossible to expect someone to be there.

I personally have another play that hasn't been discussed...a 57 yard missed field goal by a very inconsistent kicker that early in the game, which led to a short field by the Vikings who went right down the field and scored a touchdown.


I would've punted right there and played the field position game, possibly pinning them deep inside of their own 10 or so. I felt as though this play was not needed at that stage of the game, especially with how even these teams were supposed to be at the start of this game. Knowing that this team is notorious for their slow starts, I blame coaching for this play more so than the last few plays.
