A positive Tyler Guyton thread

Only 4 posts including mine.
Post he sucks, and it will be 20 pages in 20 minutes.

Yes, he just needs time, get healthy.

I pulled the plug at 14-3. He was the worst player on the field in the first quarter.

Must have had a decent rest of the game.

He was pretty good on the majority of plays. The issue for Guyton remains that when he gets beat he gets beat really bad. He gave up three pressures that were really bad, rest of the game was pretty positive though. Still a guy that we need to see probably two big steps forward from to be an above average tackle.

Can we pull this off?

I like Guyton. He is probably a RT in the NFL, but is so young and raw, that he should continue to improve and might be able to stay at LT. But I wouldn't be surprised if they made the switch and he excelled.

I am a Guyton skeptic but this is shaping up to be the perfect season to see what he can be.

I think Thomas may be better.
I know. Probably too small of a sample size yet on Thomas but I wonder what the Riley/Adams duo think of the 2 when comparing them at practice.
And IF they could actually make the decision to start him over Guyton.
Thats the biggest IF.

He's getting better. Taking time, but the progress is noticeable.

I'd still like the other guy in there at one of the tackles.

I would agree with you. Tough to say because weve seen such a limited amount of Thomas, however I was pretty impressed with his start a few weeks ago. A lot of the same issues we see from Guyton, but one was making his 1st start, the other is halfway though season 2. I'd be very interested to see if Thomas could get better and better as more tape gets out on him.

Yep, same here.

He still has a ways to go. But he is improving.

So there’s no reason to pull the plug anytime soon.

If his presence on the field was like costing the team a chance to get to the playoffs. I might feel differently. But guytons play at this point isn’t the difference in win/losing.

He’s actually a beast of a human being. We might just have to live with the boneheaded penalties however like we did with Flozell, Tyron, etc

It's taking time, because he is so inexperienced going back to college.

But Guyton is getting better. The traits to be a long term answer at LT were always there and it's starting to translate.

Now if only we could convince the staff to start Nate Thomas over Steele at RT......
