A question about Julius Peppers

If there was no salary cap, you better believe that our front 7 would probably look like this

OLB Ware
ILB Lewis
DE Ratliff
DT Haynesworth
DE Canty
ILB James
OLB Peppers

Scary thought for the rest of the league... Jerry better start printing more money.... He might as well fix the economy while he's at it...

I think he'd be a DE in a 3-4 not an OLB. He's too big to play coverage.

Nah, I think he would just lose weight and play OLB. He would just been to drop about 15-20lbs. I'm betting that wouldn't be hard for him. My guess is he isn't looking to come to Dallas. I'm betting he wants to head to New England.

Dont forget he played the 3 position at UNC for their basketball team, and was pretty good at it.

He has the athleticism to do it.

Yeah, he'd lose a few pounds and be a great 34 OLB. In fact, he'd have been a lot better off if could've started at that position instead of at 43 DE.

But I do think there would be a question of his adjustment period. Because as we've seen with Ware, no matter how athletic you are, there's still a transition to be made when you're used to only going forward and then you have to go backwards and cover.

And most of all, Alex is right. We aren't getting Peppers. He'll cost a ton, and we have to re-sign Ware. And pass rush is about the least of our worries anyway.

He'd be better at it then Ellis.

I have a question about Julius Peppers.

Why are you all wasting time thinking he will ever be here?

This.

He's more of a DE in a 3-4

No, he wouldn't be.

His STYLE of play is nowhere near being a 3-4 DE. His body build is also closer to being that of a 3-4 OLB then that of a 3-4 DE.

I like Peppers a lot but there is zero chance he's going to be playing in Dallas. One being that we're about to committ a large amount of money to Ware (About being a relative term, I don't mean like in the next five minutes or something) and because we've got a #1 draft pick at that spot, to be on the other side of Ware, and I can't see us just simply wasting that by bringing Peppers in to play his spot instead.

Oy!
All of de sudden we need a Julius?
He is an old man. 29 in mens years and 35 in NFL years.
Pass on Peppers and pass the jalapeno cornbread!
so #81 is 41 in NFL years?

Well, Mr. Fancy Pants, T.O. performs for us at a high level when Romo is in good form.
JP would have to prove himself.
And at what cost?

Not even close, homer.

Everybody looks at Jerry and sees $$$$$$$.

Why else would Ray L say he deosn't like the 3-4, then turn around and say he'd love to play for the Cowboys? 25 million reasons?
