A question for the experts...

I noticed that as of this past Monday SS/LB Tony Bua was listed on the Bucs PS and yet the press reports that he tried out for the Boy's yesterday.

I thought that in order for that to happen, a team had to first claim a player on another team's PS meaning that he is assigned to the active roster.
However, there has been no mention of this. I assume, therefore that he is on the Boy's roster. Anyone know differently?

I do know that if you sign a player off of someone's practice squad they have to be put on your 53 man roster. However, I don't know if you have to sign them before you can work them out. I would think that since they are free to seek a deal with any other team that they would be free to workout for them as well so long as they did it on their own time.
