Given the Cowboy's needs and his production, no. Hey it just my opinion. I'm happy with the pick overall, but not as a 1st round pick when we already had Jason.

Im not basing it off of what we needed.

Im just asking that if you were a team who took one of these 3 players in the 1st round would you be happy with your pick so far?

I would not be unhappy. And I would be happy for sure if i took them in the 2nd.

His goofiness isn't a flaw. His attitude is a flaw. He's an amazing athlete and a good blocker. He can be a great player. If he ever is, though, this guy is going to be a handful. It surprises me that many don't see past the goofiness and the ability to see the insubordination and the signs of insufficient respect for authority.

I see it and the more he achieves in this league the bigger that mouth is going to get too, think Jeremy Shockey big. Better nip it in the but now before you can't look back.

Shockeys problem is he is a jerk.

Bennett isn't a jerk.

He's just got a care free personality. He probably doesn't have a bad bone in his body.

Hes just a goofy kid.

No, none of the 3 put up first round numbers.

What exactly is "1st round numbers"?

Half the 1st rounders last season saw less playing time then these guys

Would I be happy that we took a guy in the first who have been available in the 5th? Or are we assuming that we wouldn't have known he would have otherwise been a 5th rounder?

I don't think I would be 100% happy with all three based on their performance, but I would like their potential for the upcoming season and wouldn't deem them as a bad pick. I would be happy with all three if they were second round picks (which means I am happy about Bennett).

Olrando Scandrick had a 3rd round grade, and I think he's better than all the CBs in the 2009 draft. That's my opinion. Scandrick is a pure cover corner with 4.32 speed, and his agility and balance are outstanding. Plus, he is a sure tackler.

Think about it. Terence Newman has been the best slot defender in the NFL for the past 3-4 years, and the coaches let Newman shadow guys, because Scandrick played so well in inside. Scandrick allows Newman freedom to line up anywhere. Mike Jenkins played very well inside, too. He gives you flexibility as well.

When Newman came back last year, Scandrick and Jenkins were playing all over the place in nickel and dime sets, inside and outside. Mike Jenkins' play went by quietly, but that tells me he was doing his job. Phillips commented on how well he played at the end of the year.

I know there is a 15 page thread that Chocolatelab started about Mike Jenkins but the word from the coaching staff is they think he is going to be a really good player for us.

Thats inside info from Brian Broadus too. Not just Wade giving one of his "everything is right in the world" comments.

Yah. I like the kid's goofiness, and he might well mature into a fantastic all-around player and get a handle on the attitude, but it's a red flag for me.
