Looking at our team, what do we really need the most? Consensus would say a DE and it's not a close second.

Since their are no DE worth signing in Free Agency, give me DT Brandon Williams and CB AJ Bouye. We need a run stuffer badly (I have always wanted Dallas to get a run stuffer ever since we passed on Sam Adams). I'm all in for going for Williams and Poe then trade most of next 2 drafts for Myles Garrett. Seriously what else do we need?

I think Anthony Brown is a future stud. Scandrick, Claiborne, and Carr can all go but we need to keep one of the 3 or my preference, move B Jones to CB, keep Scandrick and Church.

Terrance Williams and Brice Butler? We can do better, Dak did what he did with those 2 scrubs, those 2 are easily replaced, just like Romo made players like Miles Austin relevant I think Dak can do the same thing, plus we have Dez. I think a solid FA or a 4th round rookie could do what those 2 did. We don't need anything else on O but depth.

Therefore I have a question. Why not spend money on 2 studs then on 7 scrubs?

I agree with you all the way till the Garrett pick.... moving from pick 28 to the number 1 overall pick would call for a kings ransom and probably not picking in the first round for the next 2 years....

If im doing anything Im shopping a 2nd round pick for a reliable veteran from another team who might be willing to bite... This is the time of year where teams overvalue draft picks instead of proven commodities on their own team

IF we pass on a DE or even a player that can get at the QB, than it doesnt matter what we spend the money on, we are tossing away the season anyway. Someone whos only job is to get after the QB has got to be found. IF this is a problem and a problem than still a problem, than the problem is the coaches because they are again continue to ignore the ongoing problem. Whether draft of FA, an undrafted, because i feel we wont trade, we have to find someone who can get to the QB.

Everyone keeps talking DE is the top priority, but it keeps sounding more and more like CB and WR are the early targets, and that they see two DEs coming back healthy this year.
Don't shoot the messenger, as I didn't say it was my preference.

And as for Myles Garrett--going from 28 to 1st overall is not really even possible. It's never happened.

I am all for signing 2 stud D's though I dont know what Williams can add to the DL.
If it is run stuff, it does not seem Marinelli would want it.
I dont agree with a 4th round WR can replace the production of Williams.
WRs dont typically acclimatize to the NFL in the rookie year.
Agree with trading up, but cannot agree with putting 2 drafts worth to trade up.
Even blue chip prospects fail.
Clowney, who was rated every bit as highly as Garrett, took how many years to have an impact?
Oscan is not a FA.

Well DE should be the top priority. Though we certainly do also need a WR and CB. Time will tell where we go with our 1st.

i see the same thing with WR/CB in FA, except i think they will try to trade up for the DE.
tapper is one injured - are you referring to DLaw - he has a back issue...

Better forget those high priced free agents because if you believe Stephen, they aren't going to happen, not even a chance.

Yeah. It's just what I keep hearing here in Dallas...that people shouldn't be surprised if WR/CB have higher priority and that they think they have some young guys who will make jumps this year at DE.
That doesn't at all mean I think that way, and I'm not sure who the two are they're referring to, though Tapper is almost surely one of them.

I guess unless TWill provides some home town discount, he is a goner. Sounds like at least one of the CBs too.

i listened to jerry's 1 hour interview.
sounded like cb and wr to me.
it makes sense since the #2 and #4 wr are FA.
so are the starting cbs.
when he talked war daddy, he referred to previous approaches like dlaw (trade up) and gregory (taking risks).

We won't be involved in FA until day 2 or more likely day 3. The team will let the dust settle, the price tags to go to red tag....red tag, does not mean red flag.....
We will get some solid depth type players, possibly could be starters.
They will focus more on retaining their own, and then after some tests the waters, they will focus on them.

Don't be surprised if some are not signed until near or after the draft.

They will focus on FA's, including their own, to position themselves to take BPA in the draft, within reason. Meaning we need a DE, but a RB is right there on our list, but the DE is next....then they take the DE. Not the RB because he is one or 2 spots higher. If they are slotted in the same draft range. Not 1 round off.

what do you want me to do?
there is no news!!! ;)

I know, was just kidding, I listen too.
But I got so I never take what JJ or anyone from the team serious at this time of the year. Well, within reason anyway. Usually I go with...that are they blowing smoke or not...type of approach.

we need news...
the thing that is definite from the video - jj sounds different talking about romo - from "romo is not leaving" to talking about trades and even release. almost never thought jj would talk about tony jones that way...

In a mediocre DE draft and even more mediocre DE FA, DE will continue to be a priority unless Tapper blossoms into the next coming of at least Greg Ellis.

I think they may have gotten good medical news on Tapper. Lawrence also appears healthy and eligible.
