I am encouraged about one thing. This year we took Ware over Merriman (and no I don't want to go into that comparison in this thread) when Parcells appeared to want Merriman. When asked why we went with Ware Parcells replyed, "You'll have to ask Jeff Ireland about that." So even if Jones does not have the cajones to say no to Big Bill it seems that Ireland does.

I'm willing to give the current structure a chance since last year was the best draft we have had in eons...and NO Way Jerry gives up his GM title no matter what anyway.

BTW it's just a discussion...I'm not feeling dissed :)

Yeah, I like Ireland too. To tell Parcells no to Merriman took alot of cajones. If Ware went to San Diego, fans would talk how we should have take him instead of Merriman. I think Zimmer is not creative enough for the 3-4, although we had no sacks under him in the 4-3 either. If Ireland would have been here two years ago, Leftwich would have been chosen over Newman.

also was involved in the Charles Haley trade.........Jerry as a GM and owner has won 3 SB's

Thats a fact......

Jerry's biggest problem is loyalty......he tried to please Aikman....traded for Galloway....drafted Lafleur........restructered so many deals to "pay" for the great services......K.Smith,Novechek....etc......held on to coaches he should of let go.....

He brought in Prime Time.....the greatest CB Dallas ever had

Jerry Jones has done some good things here......how soon we forget.

I'm not really a big Leftwich fan; I think he is too injury prone and he was in college also. He is tough to be sure and a good pocket passer but is no more mobile that Bledsoe now days. And since Newman is the best Cover Corner in the NFL right now I'm glad it didn't go down that way.

I've been a defender of Zimmer but am beginnng to lose faith. I still think he is a good coach but will never be effective under Parcells in any system. I hope he gets a HC job so we can get a "Parcells Guy" in here because that is the only way the defense will be as effective as it should be.

Sure he has done some good things and they are appreciated. Haley was a master stroke...great move. Sanders was a good move but he WAYYYY overpaid for that showboat...would have been the great move you say if not for the Baseball that was allowed.

He also brought in Chan Gailey and promoted Dave Campo (I won't bring up Switzer because we came out of that with a SB). He drafted loser after loser and kept his cronies around as you said.

Galloway was a good player before he got hurt. At the time a 1 pick would have been okay not two number 1s. Deion had one good year with us and thats it. As far as trading for Haley that was all Jimmy. These past few drafts have all been Parcells exept this year with Lacewell.

The Haley trade was Jerry it was documented......signing Prime Time away from SF was Jerry....Hiring Jimmy Johnson was Jerry.....Picking Aikman and wanting him to start over Walsh was Jerry.

Sure Jerry made his share of bone head moves.....they all do.....Genius Jimmy and Bill make bad moves.

But without Jerry we wouldn't even sniff a SB......money is no object....He wants to win as bad as anyone and thats all I can ask.

Prime Time shut down half the field...return punts and played WR on occasion....if it wasn't for his toe problems he would of played better.....injuries happen.....Sanders worked hard at practice and was a major difference maker.....his showboat antics turn some fans off but we should all be lucky to have a player like that play for us because they only come by once in a lifetime.

Just like Troy and Irvin played well.......Jerry and Jimmy played well.....I enjoyed it but I refuse to give credit to one and not the other....they both made their marks.

Thats why we should bring Jimmy back!

Only if Jimmy heart is in it.......I think both have matured enough to get along better now.....But Jimmy seems quite happy where he is.

Bill is Jerry boy now....hopefully we can build another SB team.....I have my doubts because of Bill's philosophy and his time frame here.

Jimmy is not coming back to Dallas. Why is that so hard to understand. As for the GM who should be the GM? many of the so called Great GM do not hit on all picks either and many of the names thrown around here in the past are GM who have just been recently fired from their teams or sitting on the hot seat.

Ron Wolf?? He was fired?? What about Phil Savage. Could have gotten him if we wanted to.

And the 1st time one their picks go belly up will we hear how we need a real GM? By all accounts Dallas drafting has been good the last few years, does that mean we hit on every player? No because there are a lot of uncertainties in the draft no one knows what any of these kids will do once they reach the pros.

Parcells hasn't had one pick belly up. He's had several.
Rogers, Burnett, Peterman, Johnson, and maybe Juluis Jones if he can't stay healthy.

I did not say that Bill has not missed on a pick but I also know that every team out there misses on picks, your not going to see teams select 7 players in the draft and all 7 turn out to be great or even good players. As for Burnett this was his rookie year and no one in their right mind would consider a player a bust after 1 season. Roger's no doubt had injury problems and was a bust and Jones no I would not consider him a bust even though like yourself I'm concerned with injuries he has dealt with in his 1st 2 seasons.
