A rumor I heard about BP

In countless interviews players have stated that Jimmy was a master motivator and the results are there to prove that to be true.

I can find you more that say the same thing about Bill.

Quite frankly, I don't think you can achieve what either of these guys did if you can't motivate your players.

Bellichick may be the only coach I can think of that owes most of his success to X's and O's as opposed to getting the most out of his players. The vast majority of people will point to BP's success coming not from masterful gameday plans but because he gets good players and gets the most out of them. Just like Jimmy.

I think they are far more similar than you think.

Jimmy clearly was a great motivator but former Parcells players also heap a lot of praise on him for helping to make them the players they became. There is no doubt Bill is a tough man to play for but he seems to have the respect of his players

No question and good post

Another good post but we also have to factor in how much longer Bill coached. My posts are not intended to put BP and Jimmy against one another saying who is best. I just think the team gets down sometime and they look and play just like BP looks on the sideline. If the coach exudes confidence I feel the team will as well. Sometimes BP looks like he gives up. That is what prompted my posts.

It is all in the results I suppose so we will see how we do the rest of the season.

Jimy of dolphins fame wasn't the same coach he was in Dallas he was washed up and couldn't take that team anywhere even with Dan Marino.
Because of Dan Marino. What's for lunch?

That's exactly what i was thinking.

BTW, going back to jimmy would mean switching back to the 4-3 with SS playing WLB and the ROLB playing DE. wait a minute, that would work here

LOL. I think we could keep the 3-4 just need a def coord who could handle it.

I disagree.

I say even trade if not better off.

Um. Some of you guys are crazy. Jimmy had a great run here, but that was his legacy. He couldnt win in miami, and he was hated there in the end. The players didnt even like him.

Parcells is head and shoulders above jimmy when it comes to x's and o's and talent evaluating. Now yes I know you are going to tell me aikman and smith. Well aikman was the number 1, 99/9% of the league would have taken him. And he didnt want emmit smith, he kind of ended up here.

I would take parcells over jimmy 7 days a week. Again, jimmy had one of the greatest runs in history here. IF you brought him back here again, by himself without all his assitants like parcells came here, I think he would struggle.

Parcells and jimmy both applied for the same job at army once upon a time and jimmy was hired.

Parcells is a legend, jimmy had a 5 year legendary run in Dallas. He couldnt win in miami with alot of talent and his old assistants. That changed his perception, and when players say things like "name one play jimmy johnson ever called" that should tell you something.

Besides if jimmy came back here, he would be doomed from the start. Everyone would expect a dynasty out of him or something and that is unfair, so even a few good years and he would be looked at like a failure.

Just like gibbs in washington. Gibbs now has two losing seasons in three years, he even has a bunch of his old assistants and gets to hand pick the talent that stays and goes. Parcells has had three winning seasons out of four here in Dallas. The guy is a proven winner, the things he finds in players always breeds winning. His track record is unparalleled in my opinion. Winning in four spots is tough and he has done that.

Actually it was because of jimmy's inability to draft and develop any talent at the running back and wr position. They kept drafting players in those spots and they kept failing.

Then they had off the field problems.

Yeah. Where are we ever going to find a strict, old school, coach to really motivate this team? Hmmm.
Idgit, that picture is utterly hilarious.
