Don't turn this into ridiculous ideas 101, the perpetrators of such ideas know who they are.

In all honesty what veteran quarterback stands a realistic chance of coming into the Cowoby fold for 2007?

It seems a forgone conclusion that Bledsoe will bow out either by retirement or waiver wire and the goofy talk of Jeff Garcia was a nonsensical rambling by trolls earlier on.

Who fits the Dallas system that can come off the bench in a pinch?

I am stumped for a credible name at this time.

Anthony Wright makes the most sense, former ties to the Cowboys, starting experience, and if the Bengals would have him as a backup to Palmer, no reason we shouldn't have him as Romo's backup

This may sound a little out there, but Tim Couch may be a possibility. It all depends on his shoulder though. He had another surgery sometime last summer and I don't know how long the rehab is but he's definitely talented when healthy.

He also may be able to provide some solid advice to Romo about being the face of a franchise and how to deal with the accompanying pressure.

the only one that really comes to mind and i have no idea how old he is would be anthony wright.

shaun king for just some vet experience that had a year that couldn't be classified as simply terrible.

outside of that are a lot of jake delhomme's who simply want a chance to start somewhere and sitting behind romo, last years cinderella story, isn't a good option for players like shaub and so forth that would be worth trying to get. as sad as it may be, kerry collins? can wade be hired as a coach and 3rd string emergency qb?

i wanted to say couch but was afraid of the backlash and giggles. so since you said it, i'll echo that could be a good option to at least explore.

At one time Anthony Wright was the best quarterback on our roster.

Tim Couch is retired and is still recovering from surgery and has not thrown a pass in the NFL for 4 years. Even healthly, I wouldnt want him. He has not done nothing in the NFL. We don't know what Romo we are going to see next year and need someone who can compete with Romo and be successful if they had to play. Somehow we need to try to get Plummer, Huard, Green, or rework Bledsoe's contract.

Since when were you afraid to voice your opinion?:D

Couch was a pretty good QB, maybe not worthy of a #1 overall, but still pretty good. Like I said, it all depends on the health of his shoulder which Dallas would be able to discern in one minute of throwing.

sorry guys, but none of those choices are very encouraging. might as well bring back clint stoerner - at least he is still playing on a regular basis, even if it is in the AFL. seems to be a pretty slim market, and surely the Cowboys will not draft a QB either. i am starting to think it might not be a bad idea to sweet talk drew bledsoe!!!

I want Harrington. He's not going to get a starting gig anywhere. In Dallas, he does have an opportunity to push Romo, continue to work with Jason Garrett, and regain his confidence. I think the guy has plenty of talent. I have zero faith in the coaching he's received thus far in his career.

Didnt this year's Coach of the Year coach Romo for a while?

I've heard SD is really high on Charlie Whitehurst and that he could have a legitimate shot at the backup QB spot. If he beats out Volek, what about sending a mid-round pick to SD for Volek?

What are you talking about? I was talking about the coaching Harrington has received - not Romo.
