Obnoxious??? Me? Lighten up, Francis. I guess I'm just not up to YOUR fine standards. LOL. At least your dad went to W&L during the heyday. My dad graduated in '70 from there, and he certainly wouldn't behave that way.

Tommy Maddox as backup?

If anyone has the website for current player contracts please post it again. Others that popped to mind that there was talk of being released was Patrick Ramsey. Don't know if he would be worth a damm just a possibility that came to mind.

though he isn't a free agent, his team is shopping him around. the guy's tough to have survived the beating he's taken in a houston program that has exhibited little sense of direction to date. he's also mobile, strong-armed, and young. and for those into the pedigree thing (hello Hostile)..... pffft - i don't need to continue.
it wouldn't blow me away to see carr beat out romo in a straight-up competition - and i really LIKE romo.
as far as QBs, the only area where the Cowboys have been extremely fortunate in the last several years (as Spagnola pointed out) is the number of starts lost due to injury. when the odds start to even out (and they will) - i'd feel more comfortable with a carr in the garage.
a 3rd-rounder seems pretty reasonable to me for a young QB talent with A LOT of upside. the $$$ is my only issue regarding david.
David Carr. He'll be released by the Texans soon...Aikbach;1386297 said:Don't turn this into ridiculous ideas 101, the perpetrators of such ideas know who they are.
In all honesty what veteran quarterback stands a realistic chance of coming into the Cowoby fold for 2007?
It seems a forgone conclusion that Bledsoe will bow out either by retirement or waiver wire and the goofy talk of Jeff Garcia was a nonsensical rambling by trolls earlier on.
Who fits the Dallas system that can come off the bench in a pinch?
I am stumped for a credible name at this time.
Aikbach;1388396 said:How about Jake Plummer? Will Denver be turning him loose?
Wright, Brooks? Are these your realistic possibilities? Blech. I'll stay in "fantasy land" instead of settling for no-talents like those two. LOLiceberg;1388124 said:didn't you and prophet do some man hugging over couch saying "these folks are not being very realistic" in terms of backup qb's.
you go name fantasy 101's in ray and couch and while i saw couch as a longshot it didn't take long to see it was just not to be.
yet actual *real* names that could help us and be *REAL POSSIBILITIES* you and brother non-profit try to shoot it down.
your shrink know you *two* post in the same forums?
Johnson is an old statue. He's "done", forget him.jobberone;1388208 said:I could live with some of the names thrown out here. We just need someone who can hold up for four games or less. Anything more and you can usually throw the season away. Not always tho.
I'd like Collins or Johnson. Wright is a good choice for us because of his mobility. Collins and Johnson are Bledsoe impersonators. Not sure we have the line for them.
What about Dave Ragone? Where's he these days?adamknite;1388421 said:I believe the Texans are looking at him to make him a starter.
Here are some QB's I'd be interested in available or not.
Joey Harrington
Patrick Ramsey
Trent Dilfer
Brad Johnson
