I just never met any Generals who got their rocks off by being obnoxious on a football message board, that's all. I'm 2nd generation. My dad graduated in '70 from there, and he certainly wouldn't behave that way.

Wright is awful.

no he wasn't, he did fairly well here considering his limitations. He makes a decent backup for any team. No more than that though.

Obnoxious??? Me? Lighten up, Francis. I guess I'm just not up to YOUR fine standards. LOL. At least your dad went to W&L during the heyday. Thanks
for being the behavior police, though. You went to W&L long after it changed forever and was never the same. You went to the "new" W&L, I'm glad I went to the real thing.

I'd check out Tim Couch. Hopefully he's recovered. If so, perfect backup.

didn't you and prophet do some man hugging over couch saying "these folks are not being very realistic" in terms of backup qb's.

you go name fantasy 101's in ray and couch and while i saw couch as a longshot it didn't take long to see it was just not to be.

yet actual *real* names that could help us and be *REAL POSSIBILITIES* you and brother non-profit try to shoot it down.

your shrink know you *two* post in the same forums?

What about Brad Johnson from the Vikings? Wasn't there talk of the Viqueens releasing him, or getting him for a late round pick. Don't we have like 3 7ths rders this year?

If anyone has the website for current player contracts please post it again. Others that popped to mind that there was talk of being released was Patrick Ramsey. Don't know if he would be worth a damm just a possibility that came to mind.

I've heard that Kellen Clemens will be given a shot to win the starting job in NY from Pennington. This is just speculation on my part but if he does, then Pennington could be shopped and that might mean they keep Ramsay around as an experienced backup.

Apparently, MIN is looking at Quinn despite being pretty high on Tarvaris Jackson as potential starting material. I'm sure Johnson could be had for virtually nothing if they draft Quinn. And we do have 3 7th-round picks.

I could live with some of the names thrown out here. We just need someone who can hold up for four games or less. Anything more and you can usually throw the season away. Not always tho.

I'd like Collins or Johnson. Wright is a good choice for us because of his mobility. Collins and Johnson are Bledsoe impersonators. Not sure we have the line for them.

david carr intigues the heck outta me.

though he isn't a free agent, his team is shopping him around. the guy's tough to have survived the beating he's taken in a houston program that has exhibited little sense of direction to date. he's also mobile, strong-armed, and young. and for those into the pedigree thing (hello Hostile)..... pffft - i don't need to continue.

it wouldn't blow me away to see carr beat out romo in a straight-up competition - and i really LIKE romo.

as far as QBs, the only area where the Cowboys have been extremely fortunate in the last several years (as Spagnola pointed out) is the number of starts lost due to injury. when the odds start to even out (and they will) - i'd feel more comfortable with a carr in the garage.

a 3rd-rounder seems pretty reasonable to me for a young QB talent with A LOT of upside. the $$$ is my only issue regarding david.

I want Cowboys to get Garcia because he's a better suited as a sure fit if Romo goes down. Trust me I don't think he would be the type of quarterback to make some type of controversy. Im confident in the quarterback we have in Romo, so I feel like he won't have too much competition anyway but it is good to have it because he drives him to do better.

Naw I do not think so. Carr wouldn't beat Romo out in a thousand years. Tony Romo is a smarter quarterback than Carr

Don't turn this into ridiculous ideas 101, the perpetrators of such ideas know who they are.

In all honesty what veteran quarterback stands a realistic chance of coming into the Cowoby fold for 2007?

It seems a forgone conclusion that Bledsoe will bow out either by retirement or waiver wire and the goofy talk of Jeff Garcia was a nonsensical rambling by trolls earlier on.

Who fits the Dallas system that can come off the bench in a pinch?

I am stumped for a credible name at this time.
David Carr. He'll be released by the Texans soon...

How about Jake Plummer? Will Denver be turning him loose?

I believe the Texans are looking at him to make him a starter.

Here are some QB's I'd be interested in available or not.

Joey Harrington
Patrick Ramsey
Trent Dilfer
Brad Johnson

Wright, Brooks? Are these your realistic possibilities? Blech. I'll stay in "fantasy land" instead of settling for no-talents like those two. LOL

Johnson is an old statue. He's "done", forget him.
