A show of hands please, will you be as enthused in '09 with the cards dealt by Jerra?

you already proved the point, laughably making a case how Jerry is "one of the best GMs'.

nope....

Jerry is the among the worst GMs in the NFL for the last 20 years.

book it.

It used to be said that Jerry was a great owner but terrible GM. Now that isn't even true.

A great owner would've put a competent GM in place years ago. And a great owner would hire the best coach he could find and let that man do his job.

No one can say with a straight face that Switzer, Gailey, Campo and now Wade were the best, or even close to the best HC candidates available when they were hired. And on top of it, not one of them was even given the power and control over their own coaching staff.

Also a great owner doesn't add distractions to his own team or is interested in making money at the expense of winning or his own ego.

Defending Jerry is easier than admitting to oneself that Jerry isn't going to make the necessary changes within his management philosophy to form this team into a playoff winner. It's a cold, dreary, and depressing realization.

Yeah, I understand where many of them are coming from. People want to have hope, give the benefit of the doubt and rationalize things in their own mind hoping for the best. But sometimes it just is what it is. This has gone on far too long to just write it off as a fluke or a run of bad luck.

Like I said before, my only hope lies in the fact that even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while. After 13 years, you'd think even Jerry is due sooner or later. Maybe.
