A testament to good coaching

It means kissing someone's rear. It's a very common idiom. Google it.

Look, I'm sorry if I'm being unnecessarily testy, but here's my problem with this thread: you have a game in which the majority of fans, pundits, even our former legendary coach scratching his head about a bad coaching decision. 10 minutes after the final whistle, you have a Garrett fanboy making a thread about a play in which there is literally nothing to see here and shoving it in the Garrett-critics faces. This thread serves no purpose but to rah rah around JG while sticking it to the people who question his judgment.

Don't you know that if Garrett does something, even if 31 other HC's in the league do the same, with Red its something extra special and so amazing?

I mean if Red can wipe himself and get no skid marks in his boxers he has done something remarkable! :D And its worthy of a new thread!

What about all the crap shoved down the throats from the Garrett haters to the fans that back him up? We have to put up with that without talking back? Huh...

All those fans, pundits, legendary coaches were wrong, period.

There are many posters that are allowed to spew their hate about anything Cowboys on this forum without repercussion. What goes around comes around.

I agree with you but you have to see what a reach this was. Since the HC kept his starters on the field for every play BUT that one.

What reach! You are another poster that was wimping out about the starters playing. MEN play the game, not boys....and the men showed up.

Prove that and I will never post here again. If your wrong and you are a simple apology will do just fine. I'll wait.

good grief. I can see why Garrett fanboys like the man so much. They share the same inferiority complex.

Did you or did you not want to rest the starters for this game?

What's funny is that the reverse works when Garrett does something "wrong" that 31 other coaches do as well.

So, because you and some others disagree with a certain coaching decision, you feel comfortable saying that people are "riding JG's jock" if they laud a different decision? And you're okay dishing that kind of harsh criticism after a win like today? Grow up dude.

Some of you guys are just going to have to find some way to come to terms with today's big victory.

And, if you've been questioning the judgement of the HC for years now, perhaps you ought to look in the mirror and realize that you were probably wrong all along. It's not like the signs weren't there and that others didn't see them and repeatedly point out to you what they were seeing.

This schtick is getting really, really tired. I'm ecstatic about this season and about today's win. I give JG credit where it is due; he is a great motivator and he gets his guys to play hard for him. I think he has clearly earned an extension.

None of that is inconsistent with thinking he is a bad in-game manager. None of that is inconsistent with being strongly against playing starters into the 4th in a meaningless game.

I'm tired of people on this site boxing people into camps; e.g., I must be angry and disappointed that this season went well and I'm trying to "come to terms" with being wrong because I don't care much for JG as HC. It's both ridiculous and offensive to question my fandom because I don't agree with certain things the HC does.

Well, as a "fan" your questions have been proven wrong...so far. The HC and his assistants have this team playing their *** off...and you question that?

Sorry if the schtick you're getting now is tiresome for you. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't expect it. It's well-deserved. But I'm glad you're happy about the win today.

If you can wrap your head around the idea that in-game management is not the be-all or end-all of head coaching in this league, you'll be where some of us were a few years ago. Assembling and developing talent and building culture has always been what it's all about, and that's been going on for some time.

As for not liking playing the starters today, you're entitled to that, too. I liked it, personally. And I think there's little doubt it ended up helping the team and building a stronger locker room heading into the playoffs. So, if it was a risk, it was a risk that paid off and was really, really fun to watch in the process. Football players play, it turns out. I guess Bill Parcels was right about that.

And, for the record, I would never question your fandom. I question your judgment. There's a huge difference.

Dudes.
Didn't we just beat the Commanders? Are we going to the playoffs?
Can't we just get along after a kick but win?
Don't
