Something I haven't seen discussed that might be worth chewing on is how Lee the off-season before last was really pushing Carter-
Making him recognize plays, calling plays out like a captain, and pushing him to eat, live and breath football like Lee himself.
I can't recall specifically, but was Lee injured through last off-season?
Did he do the same thing with Carter?
I never heard a peep about it, and I know someone would have discussed how much "more of a leader Lee is than Romo" if it happened for the second off-season in a row.

I think this might have had a real effect on Carter this last season and he needs someone pushing him- not just from a physical aspect, but from a mental recognition and passion to play aspect.

I think he needs Lee as his personal live-in coach to maximize his potential.

Another thing, if Lee was not injured through the off-season- why didn't they get together again to learn the new defense?
Or maybe they did and this is all a moot point.

I don't know- this has been playing in my head the last few days.

I think its just a matter of Lee picking it up faster that Carter. Im sure Lee was trying to spoon feed him but the process was just too slow.

Bruce Carter is an absolute animal and he can actually read plays well as far as instinct (atleast IMO) but doesnt put himself in the best position. There may have just been too much on his plate.

It would be interesting to know Carters wonderlic score. Some people brush this test off but it shows teams how these players think on the fly. That and the nfl reducing the number of practices the teams have now a big part. Then you have to take Carters history with the Cowboys into consideration. His rookie yr he was activated in oct. and played little because he was slow in grasping what they wanted to do. The next yr he was very good. I have no worries that Carter will be back in 2014.

Those wonderlick scores dont seem to be quite accurate enought o put a whole lot of stock into. Sorta like a ploygraph for law inforcement, gives a good idea, but not good enough to be used in court. lol

But yeah, hes not as quick as Lee, thats safe to say. Speed, size, quickness, strength.. those are tools that he has. Honestly, unlike many I dont question his desire. Hes just not high strung.

There was a radio interview with Carter during this past season where he discussed this issue. He said that Lee was constantly quizzing him even when they were at each others houses or in social settings.

To have a player that helps everyone around him is special. SMH @ people who want to see him gone.

Carter lost me shortly after being drafted by the Cowboys, he stated that he eats McDonald's every day. Not 100% dedicated to his craft.

I don't get why they didn't try him on the strong side.

Or even in the middle with lee on the weak side.

To me it seems like those two are misplaced in the defense

If you re-watch some of the games you will notice on away from the ball or backside pursuit if Carter is not in on the play he doesn't chase it down.
Kind of disappointing considering the premise of the Kiffin defence is to pursue to the whistle. Also disappointing given how athletic he is suppose to be.

He needs to work on honing his craft more.

I had hopes for "Mr." Carter. The almighty Bruce isn't so all mighty. He better get prepared this season. McDonalds? Is this a joke. He will probably start. But he aint to smart. 2nd season in Kiffins joke of a scheme should fare better for this slow learner. I was never excited about Bruce. Lucky for him Dallas has bigger problems. These injured college draft choices are all Jerry the Wildcatter.

He's a product of the "Carolina Way". Great to see the national media start to dig into what many have known for a long time.

Yep, if you want the most out of your abilities eat clean. Same thing could of been said for Chad Johnson.

Ray Lewis wouldn't of been the same player if he had that junk everyday

Call me crazy, but I think it just takes Carter more than one off-season to get acclimated to a new defensive scheme.

Assuming the Cowboys stay with the 43 cover 3, I think he'll be our most improved player next year.

If there was a Wonderlic test for durability, Sean Lee would be Morris Claiborne. And Morris Claiborne would be... well, Morris Claiborne.

I just want Carter to work out, because you know, Rush Hour(Carter/Lee). Too cool of a name to not have this workout.
