But I don't think #10 is. I'd go Chargers, Ravens, Colts, and Cowboys at 10.

Yes, I think they are. Last year was an aberration. They will return to form with a new head coach, new aggressive defense, and key players back from injury.

Do you need an education on how many teams move ahead of teams who finished higher the year before? Because I can educate you. Last year means nothing now.

Based on what? I'll go ahead and give you that our coaching is improved, which seems to be the only point you guys are bringing up. What I'm interested in are the players on the field. Looking at our injury prone and frankly unproven set of backs, our lack of WR depth, our offensive line issues, our uncertain kicking situation and our defense as a whole, what about this team makes you think we are indisputable top 10 team? Sure, we could have a bunch of rookies and unproven players step up but that is something that can never be expected. What6 about this team RIGHT NOW says top 5-10 in the NFL?

Without trying to sound purely argumentative, what form would that be? The form that has seen us win one playoff game in 5 years with this core group of players? Even if we do improve significantly, we hardly have an elite "form" to fall back on. If this team has any real success they will be blazing a previously unknown trail, for them at least.

Offense.

And like I said, we have fine skill position talent, but our number one runner has yet to prove he can have a wildly successful season as the feature back, the depth behind him is questionable, our receiver depth is also questionable, and any great offesnse hinges on a line that can protect the QB and open holes for the backs. Our line did neither with any regularity last year, and it arguably got worse in the short term since we are starting two rookies and Gurode and Kosier were already starting to decline.

Again, we COULD be a really good team if we are lucky enough to have five-six question marks addressed by as of now unproven players. That is a lot of hoping, though. I mean, David Arkin may end up being great, but asking him to be a solid NFL starter a month after taking his first practice snap out of Missouri State is asking a lot.

But I don't want us to return to this group's "form". I want to win championships, not a couple big November and December games every now and then. That's why we hired Garret after all, to get AWAY from this team's "form" in recent years. Our "form" was not winning championships.

One reason? Hell sonny, I can do better than that.

1. Tony Romo is a better QB than Jon Kitna
2. Jason Garrett is a better HC than Wade Phillips
3. Rob Ryan is installing an aggressive defense. Last year was the only time our passive defense gave up points in the last 5 years. The over reaction to last year doesn't impress me. I will look at the form they showed consistently before last year and expect a "return to form" that I have already advocated.
4. We have players playing with chips on their shoulders.
5. Key injured players other than Romo are also returning.

I could go on, but there is no need.
