he is #3 because he is number 3.....Felix and Barber are better....if Felix learns to block and can stay healthy he could be top 2 RB in the league......and Barber is better blocker and runs like a bull......not taking away from Choice but dont discount the others ......and i agree ..he would start on alot of teams but he is #3 here llegitimately

He is number 3 only because the money shelled out to the other two, yes Barber runs like a bull, but that does not mean he is a better RB, he just runs harder which does not make for a long career, or to stay healthy. Jones is faster and more elusive, electricfying, but he cannot catch that well and his blocking needs to improve greatly, and he also cannot seem to stay healthy. Choice is durable, quick, dependable, can catch and he can block, and he always makes plays, he may be the 3rd string, but only because Barber got here first and he got a big payday, and Jones had more highlights in college, but believe me, Choice is the real deal and eventually I believe he will be the starting RB for the Cowboys. I would not expect you to understand the intracacies of being a RB, or even being a very informed fan, by your post you are just a regular fan that watches the games, focused on the big plays and the final score, you probably never even put on a uniform, but if you did probably did not play much if any. Smell you later

Chuckie was giving major props to Hudson Houck in last nights game, saying there was no one alive as good at scheming blocks. Seems to be true so far. The running game has been lights out.

Why don't people realize that with Flozell?

Yep, and Flozell said after the false start something to the effect of "stop messing with the snap count"

You could read his lips..

I will take Flozell and his penalties over Free or anybody else we have!!!

Every day of the week.

He is deaf in one ear you know guys!

Barber is a better RB easily than Choice. The pass protection alone makes him much more valuable.

Jones catches very well and is the gamebreaker.

I like Choice and when he gets more experience he very well may be the starter in Dalls when MBIII contract is up but he is not the better back right now. I guarantee you we would have not run 2 fades on 2nd and 3rd if MBIII was in the game. Him not being there cost us at least 14 points tonight.

On the fades, I liked the call for the Williams pass, 2nd down, give it a shot and if it doesn't work you still have a shot at running it in. Roy should have hung on to it, no excuses.

On the 3rd down when Martellus split out he had a major mismatch, it looked like he was a foot taller than whoever it was covering him. As soon as Romo looked over I knew he was going to try and take advantage of it and I think it was the right call. Unfortunately they weren't on the same page as to where the pass would go but it still looked like the right call to me because of the mismatch.

I largely agree. I am sorry about Barber and Felix but that is where our (once-) great depth comes into play.
I have no worries about Choice starting any game.
There were a lot of positives last nite and I for one am pleased that we escaped with a win. Had we not won the crowd would have torn down the stadium (just kidding, drunks have a hard time doing stuff, ha-ha).

That feller looks like that singer with the Fleetwoods Macks but with more eye makeup. I would hope he could also sing "see you in September" and "September in the rain" but they is old school songs and maybe would not interest him.

You cannot guarantee that. Garrett just got cute, all he had to do was just give the ball to TC and we still would have scored, more easily than on a pass. No, you cannot guarantee that, so stop saying so. Yes, TC needs more experience just as Jones need more, so I hope you are not saying that Jones has more experience than Choice.
Choice knows how to pass block, and to recognize the blitz, he played in Chan Gaileys offense at Georgia Tech, a pro style offense, and he got real on the job training last season when Barber and Jones was once again out with injuries, against the 5 top defenses in the league, so you argument is moot.
Choice is dependable, durable, a playmaker, he is always gaining yards, he can do it all.

Do you understand what being a RB is? I do not know why I am asking because your post shows that you do not. Being a hard runner, or having speed is a plus, it does not make you a top running back, if that was the case then Julius Jones would still be here, and some other guys that were here that were hard runners would have been starters for us over the years.

Also, as was clearly evident last night, the Cowboys have GOT to get rid of the "KILL KILL KILL!" audible....:bang2:

I know what a good RB is and that is why Emmitt is one of the alltime best because he could do it all and he did it all.

Barber, while not having the gifts Emmitt does, does everything very well and is a complete back in all phases of the game. I would say that Choice is a more gifted runner but he is not the complete package that Barber is right now. Could he be someday, sure but I still betcha that Garrett would not have been passing on 2 and 3rd and 1 and Barber's presence would have accounted for 14 more points. The blitz pickup was the reason that we were not in sync for the entire 1st half. Barber's abscence was the key!

I need to do a better job explaining the comments about us being at our best in September. I thought by mentioning Tom Landry that people would automatically make the connection that I am talking about our all time History.

Technically we are better in August than any other month. We are 1-0. I say that of course tongue in cheek. We've only played 1 August regular season game. We have only played 6 regular season games in January. We have 1 this year. We are 2-4 so far.

September we are 104-51-1. That is a .671 winning %.

October we are 111-89-2. That is a .555 winning %.

November we are 117-90-2. That is a 565 winning %.

December we are 90-76-1. That is a .542 winning %.

Okay, now for a little good news for you all since you have been so nice.

That .542 winning % in December represents our worst month by far. Coming into this season, that winning % is higher than 24 teams all time winning %. No wonder we are spoiled.

That has to be one of the most ignorant posts I've seen in a while. Peppers line last night. Two tackles ZERO sacks. Do you know who shut him down? Yep, Flozell Adams did. Doug Free would have been posterized by Peppers and it would have probably be brutally ugly and very would could have cost the Cowboys a win.

I know Flo blocks well, most of the time...though the Giants own him. I am just tired of his foolish penalties. It would be different if he would show some remorse or accountability for them. However, he acts like it doesn't mean a hill of beans. If he would just own up to his mistakes and take some responsibility for aiding in the derailment of our offense on a few possessions a game.

Good points. #1 Rushing team...how about that?! If we can keep these horses healthy, watch out. Team built for the later months, not just September.

Formula for success in December/playoffs - healthy, strong, punishing running game. Especially if our defense shows up a little bit, and we're able to rack up 200+ rushing yards on the NY Giants

Care to elaborate? If anything Flo has owned Osi Umenyiora. Did I miss either Osi or Tuck getting a sack off of Flo the last time they played?

Yhats a bet I would take all day everyday and twice on Sundays. I'm curious What other gifts did Emmitt have that Barber does not have? Let's see they both can run the ball, catch the ball, block, that covers it all, so the only one that cannot do it is Felix Jones (right now) we agree Barber can do that and it seems everyone else already knows that Choice can do it but you. Now if you are talking about intangibles, then yes, Emmitt has Barber, Choice and a whole lot of other RBs that are playing football, oh, I got it, you are talking about Emmitt's durability and him being dependable, but wait Choice has that as well, I know you are not talking speed? Emmitt did not have that, nor does Barber and Choice may just be a tad faster than both of them, maybe it is quickness, but Choice may have Emmitt in that dept. as well
Now he has not reached Emmitt status, and he may never reach it, but he is the better RB on our roster right now.

Felix was in the game in the first half when the blitz was not being picked up, by the RB, go back and review the game. Choice, I will repeat this again, because it seems that you did not understand, comprehend or just cannot read, played in a pro styled offense at Georgia Tech, Chan Gailey who was once the Cowboys coach was his coach at GT. Secondly Choice did a great job last season against the top 5 defenses when Barber and Jones were sidlelined last season, they already know he can pick up the blitzes, that is why he was the 3rd down back when the season started.
Garrett just got cute with his play calling on the goal line, he knows that Choice can push it in, because Choice did it last season in short yardage situations.

Dude, let it go, you are wrong, you do not know about RBs, you just think you know because you have watched Emmitt during his time in the NFL.

There are far too many fans that prefer talking out their butts instead of their mouths. Perhaps because both might smell same because of the crap that they spew out of both ends.

Yeah...Romo was yelling at the ref too. It was obvious they were yelling, on TV at least.
