A Touch of Hostility...Week 9

The Jenkins pick was really incredible. He played that perfectly, then made a great play on the ball. That pick and the hold on 4th and inches were the two turning points in the game. You could just feel the air come out of the sails for the Eagles and their home crowd.

You could call this an ugly win because of the penalties, and the sacks. However Romo impressed me - even more after I watched the game on television today. He went into a hostile environment against a divisional opponent and threw for more than 300 yards.

One thing Hos, you called the Cowboys game plan. I thought they'd try to go deep and exploit the blitz. Well, they exploited the blitz but they did so with the short passing game and the lead draw.
I am glad someone remembered. I wish the running game had worked better. If it had I think this could have been a walkaway.

A team has to risk to win in this league. There are times, just like in poker, that you have to push your chips into the middle of the table and take a risk to win big.

Last night Romo played an excellent game. He did toss the pick, but he also was trying to make something happen.

Romo himself has said this in the past.

You have to remember, sometimes the team is playing from behind. Now, there are quarterbacks like McNabb with very few career interceptions, but can you think of a single memorable game in which McNabb took his team that was trailing and led them back into a game? I cannot.

Romo takes chances, especially when playing from behind. I have no problem with that. I do have a problem with the stupid picks. No question, I love Romo, but he cost us the Giants' game in week 2. He seems to have corrected those things, I hope they stay corrected.
