I don't believe other teams are as hyped about Donald as most Cowboys fans and the draft media. At the end of the day, scouts are going to be concerned about his size.

Tampa has Gerald McCoy and they signed Seattle's co-starter at 3-tech Clifton McDonald. At #7 they are probably taking somebody like Evans or Jake Matthews. Most people believe that the Lions will take the top CB at #10. Tennessee has a 3-tech that had 10.5 sacks in 2013 and a solid young backup behind him. The Giants normally like bigger DTs like recently departed Linval Joseph at over 320 pounds and last years 2nd round pick also at over 320 pounds. The Bears say they are going to use a 4-3, but their D-Coordinator, DL coach, and LB coach have all primarily coached the 3-4. They will probably run a hybrid which might not be a good fit for Donald.

It appears that in almost all circumstances that top tier player is going to be available at #16. If that turns out to be a QB, then somebody is probably willing to make a favorable trade to get that player.

Agreed.

So you're saying there is a chance.

I don't know. They are the only team I see taking him. But I get the feeling they're going to surprise people. I know Trestman said they're not going to a 3-4 yet, but I believe that's cause they don't have the pieces.

If the pieces are there, maybe they consider?

This is what I've felt, all along, though Donald does seem to be gaining steam, if anything. I think the Bears likely take him, but I wouldn't be shocked to see them address the secondary, instead. I can readily see a team jumping us to get to him if the Bears pass, too. I'd say there's about a 10% chance he's there for us, but, if he's not, Barr probably will be. At this point, I'd just roll the dice and trade down if I could if all QBs with a first round grade and both players I'd like at 16 are gone.

It's not wrong because you suggest that it is Donald who makes you feel naughty. It's wrong because I've known you for many years now and in every single one of them, you were pretty much naughty, well before any of us even heard of Donald. I think you are using Donald as a crutch here.

That is all..........

Yes, the draft media and fans get overexcited about the Senior Bowl and the combine type stuff; whereas, NFL teams probably don't alter their grade on a player all that much based on these post season performances.
