I'd definitely be OK giving Aaron Glenn a shot. He's going to hold folks accountable, maybe even upstairs too. He may be able to get in Jerry's ear. "So do you REALLY want to win a Superbowl before you die, Mr. Jones? If so, let's talk about this roster..."

He's going to be so good as a HC.

Too bad we dicked around with Mike for a week and missed our shot at talking to him.

Glenn makes too much sense. Not coming to Dallas.

The team that hires him potentially is going to get a great coach.

Aaron Glenn: If you hire me, you’re getting a head coach not a defensive coach

One of the other spots could be the right situation for Glenn and he was asked at a press conference about the idea that defensive coaches are less successful when they become head coaches. Glenn cited Pete Carroll and Bill Belichick as alternative examples and then explained that he will not be the coach of the defense if he’s hired by one of those teams.

“I’m a coach,” Glenn said. “I just happen to be on defense. I understand the offense just as well as a number of people. If you want to hire me, you’re going to hire a coach. You’re not gonna hire a defensive coach. I’m gonna talk to the offense just as much as I’m gonna talk to the defense.”

He's probably the Saint's top target.......but if all things are equal, would probably choose the Cowboys first.

I would say some ties to Jerry, but not necessarily strong ones. He played here for two years.

It’s not a Jerry hire. Period.

This isn’t about hope for fans. This is Jerry and him playing with his toy with his sons. He told us that. Wait it out for now.

Not to pick on you, more the media because they seem obsessed with a candidate having ties to Jones.......

Are ties to Jerry even important? Is the media overrating that. Two of our three last HC hires had zero ties to Jones before getting the job

Darth I should have worded this a little better but strong ties mean he has three elite mentor coaches who would offer strong support if Jerry decides to consider him. It's no secret Jerry has a habit of mingling current coordinators with new head coaches or forcing new coordinators on current coaches. This goes all the way back to Campo right up to McCarthy. In fact, I did a little research a few months ago on the coaches Jerry hired since Jimmy. One common denominator ........ at least one coordinator ( offensive, defensive or special team ) was forced on every new coach. In other words, Jimmy is the only coach to pick ALL three of his coordinators and assistant coaches. Bottom line, for the first time since he hired Jimmy, Jerry needs to hire new head coach and three coordinators. Add the fact it appears he trying to force Witten on the next guy ( like he did Garrett on Wade ) ....it's a mess.

But we will see

My question to you guys, is why would any smart coach want to come here ????????????????
They all know how it is, they all saw this season and off season lol.

I think any guy wanting to come here is either stupid, wants to be a puppet, and coach for money and to be the boss, do PC's etc.

If you were a good OC or DC would you want to be HC of cowboys?? Pre jerry yes, maybe even in 90's or early 2000's , but now ??
I wouldnt, I would go after any other HC job that wasnt dallas. So far dallas job has killed the HC career of every HC they have had after jimmy.
Only wade got a job as a DC again.

So whoever jerry hires will just be stupid or a puppet.
