did Irvin ever turn down a dying cancer victim? Yes, he was a party animal but never heard him being a ****** bag to people. In fact, I saw him and Sanders sign for people before...right out of Sanders Mercedes.

Looked like he was talking to the guy next to him and didn't even pay any attention. It happens. Either that or he probably saw the lights from the camera and didn't want to do anything media-related and kept walking. It makes him look bad, but I doubt he was thinking "Cancer patient? No signing for you!"

99% of the time I only here good things about Rodgers not being a prima donna and always being a standup guy. I don't know the man, but that is generally what I hear.

Do you honestly think Aaron Rodgers would decline signing an autograph for a cancer patient with cameras rolling if he actually knew it was a cancer patient?

Yeah, imagine if Rodgers was a Cowboy and did something like this. Cowboys fans would be bending over backwards trying to make excuses or find reasons why the criticism was unjustified.

man rodgers is a chump. especially after clay mathews says they were told she was there waiting.

Not defending Rodgers but one has to wonder if he had his ear phones in when they told the team about this lady waiting for them. Just food for thought.

I've never thought Rodgers to openly be a punk like that. I would like to think that when he hears this story later he'll send that lady some autographed stuff. Just my 2 cents.

After the Arizona shootings, if I was public figure I don't know that I would say two words to anybody. You might say the wrong thing to someone who takes offense and they pull out a gun and shoot you.

I just don't see how anyone can make a judgement about someones character based on a youtube clip posted by Florio, the Enquirer of Pro Football. Rodgers had earphones on. Maybe he had them on when the stewardess said something to the team and did not hear her. Mabye the
Stewardess just said something in the area of the plane Clay was in and Rodgers did not hear it. Maybe the security guy told him to not stop for anyone and keep moving because of some whackos in the area. Who knows. But there are enough good things he does that nobody hears about that to dismiss him as a bad guy for this clip is just not logical and based purely on their predetermined opinion of him.

When we posted on Sunday the item regarding video from WBAY-TV showing Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers breezing by a breast cancer patient hopeful that he’d sign her hat, we knew there would be a reaction.

Packers fans, basking in the franchise’s biggest win since Brett Favre left town, have no interest in any criticism of their new green-and-golden boy. It’s obvious. It’s predictable. And we don’t blame them for being protective of their star quarterback.

After all, plenty of fans of other teams blindly have defended far, far worse behavior by their star quarterbacks. (The Falcons circa 2007 and the Steelers circa 2010 come to mind.) Rodgers, as we admitted on Sunday, was fully within his rights to not acknowledge the existence of Jan Cavanaugh while walking through the airport as the team either was heading to or returning from Atlanta. And we had every right to react to the video, as harvested, edited, and presented by WBAY, by opining that Rodgers was acting like an ***.

The woman, a cancer survivor who is dressed all in pink - the color associated with the breast cancer awareness campaign - told Channel 2 in Green Bay that she had come from cancer treatments straight to the airport to get some autographs.


In the video, she appears to be asking Rodgers, who with his teammates are walking to their gate for a flight to Atlanta, for an autograph. Rodgers with earplugs in, walks by her without stopping. Later, linebacker Clay Matthews stops and talks to her while giving her an autograph.
Rodgers took a lot of heat from people who saw the video and thought he was blowing off a cancer survivor.


On Monday, the woman stepped forward and said she was upset that Rodgers was getting grief because of the video and told Channel 2 that she had just gotten an autograph the week before from Rodgers and he had signed other things for her in the past.

Or maybe he thought she was looking for other signatures and since he had already signed something for her, he didn't think he was her intended target.

People just want to get mad at something. Besides, if the woman says she wasn't upset, what reason have you to be?

so according to you he should sign whenever she needs something signed because it is the right thing to do. He signs lots of things for her last weekend after the eagles game when no cameras were around and because he does not acknowledge her AGAIN at 3 or 4 in the morning when he is getting into the Green Bay from atlanta, you lose respect for him. Tough Crowd.

or how about a "hey" or a raise of the eyebrow? Something other than acting like she has leprosy. I'm glad Clay Matthews took the time to grant her an autograph. Had respect for him before but gained a bit more for him taking the time to sign a piece of clothing for a woman suffering with cancer.
