The Packers drafted a quarterback (Jordan Love) in 2020 in the 1st round pick 26.....

AND they let both sit on the bench and learn for 2 Years. Before anyone mentions Romo, these were first round draft picks. From Favre to Rodgers to Love now, rest of the league neede to take note. No other team has had as much success.

Rodgers got upset as well, but was the right move by Green Bay. Although, they did pass on Justin Jefferson whom Rodgers wanted. So maybe it wasn’t the right move but who knows.

I am for it if you think a special QB is there, but not sure if that guy is there in this draft at the end of the first round.

And Rodgers didn't like it. But they still did it.

Dak has been coddled since day 1. Wouldn't even let Romo complete for the job back. There was no downside to a QB competition but they didnt want to offend poor widdle dakkypoo.
And then when Cooper Rush was winning games (proving even a backup scrub can win and the roof won't cave in without 4) mgmt had to publicly criticize Rush while he was still playing just so everyone knew little dakky was their guy.

I mean you know the answer to that question.The cowboys never draft QBs in round 1 and aikman was the last one. Its not evemn about dak they didnt do it with romo either when we had limted success then. It also could be that the football minds feel that it not just a QB thing

I'd do backflips if they took someone like Nix to sit behind Dak for a year then let him walk, but it is not going to happen.

I guess my question is, who is that player in this years draft that falls to pick 24? Maybe a good strategy but still need the player available….

I am not a huge college football fan but the stuff I read about he 1st round QBs seem very mixed. No one stands out that I would spend a 1st round pick on.

We should , but our draft position is not high enough to get premium talent , pick an average QB and that means a few more years of wasted efforts

Well Aaron was in his late 30s but it was stupid to take Love with Aaron still in his prime.

They took Love and sat him for years now it’s time to give him a new contract. They missed out on the luxury of having a cheap quarterback….just stupid.

Motivated Rodgers to win 2 straight MVPs. Rodgers had been in decline in 2017-2019. Them picking Love lit a fire under Rodgers.

Conjecture.

Rodgers threw 85 TDs vs 9 Interceptions in 2020-2021 and won two MVPs after they picked Jordan Love.

Would "another piece" on offense have really made a difference for them? I guess we'll never know.

What we do know is the Packers are staring at potentially their 4th straight decade of having a franchise QB with top-tier tools.
