The Rolling Stones are one of the five best bands of all time. There's no accounting for taste but if you go out and buy Beggar's Banquet, Let it Bleed, Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main Street and still aren't impressed then you're no fan of rock and roll. THAT BEING SAID, the Stones passed their best-by date about 25 years ago and that was absolutely painful to watch last night. Ron Wood is an joke, the Barry Switzer of rock, Keith is still cool but he can't write a good song anymore, and Mick simply looks like he's trying too hard these days. I agree with those who are saying that KISS would've been a better choice. Obviously they can't compete with the Stones from a historical standpoint but they do know how to stage a spectacle and Detroit Rock City would've blown the roof off that place.Champsheart said:I am sorry, but that was the most pitiful musical performance I have ever seen at such a big event.
I am 35 years old, and have heard the Stones before, never liked them really, but never really gave much thought to them.
I will admit I never understood what the fuss was all about.
I was disappointed when it was announced they where playing the Halftime show.
I decided to keep an open mind though and watch the show.
OMG, that was just plain horrible.
Even my 7 year old son could not believe what he was seeing.
I am sorry for you Stone fans, but the Rolling Stones Suck!
Mick Jagger can not sing for his life. If you put him on American Idol without knowing who he was, he would be laughed out of the competition by the judges.
And watching him dance around was one of the most stomach turning things I have seen.
THAT WAS JUST HORRIBLE!
