ABQ Jr's draft (1st edition)

I thought long about that move, I was very tempted to putting a third instead of 4th. I just don't see that happening. I don't see any value for use at 9 either though....:(
If you dropped to 18th, for example, you may even be able to get second, or most certainly a 3rd.

I like the trade down idea IF a real value and fit is not reaming for us at 9. But I'm kind of with some of these other guys regarding Demarcus Love in the 2nd. No thanks.

I'd also be hesitant to take Ingram in the middle of the 1st round (for us anyway). I think Ryan Williams (the VT RB) can be had 1-2 rounds later and may be just as good as Ingram....if we wanted a tough, fast RB.

yes and no, not even really good drafting teams hit on every pick. We have managed to have alot of success with undrafted players too. Limited success with first round picks, but we've had success.

Sure -- but you are much more likely to have success with a higher pick

Honestly we are a franchise that has the talent to be drafting very late every year for some time to come. We need to take our crack at a top 10 impact pick when we can.

I will give up my Cowboys card over 25+ years if we draft Ingram. He is OVERRATED BIG TIME........BUYER BE AWARE>>>
Well if they draft Ingram in the first round then give it up and I don't see where Ingram is overrated.

Ingram is infact a longshot being drafted at #9, but the guy is a player.

I agree. He is a player.

I compare him to Emmitt Smith coming out of college and how he's built.

I can guarantee alot of people were saying some of the same stuff about Emmitt coming out of Florida, and Steve Spurrier didn't think too highly of him either when he became the Gators head coach.

Mark Ingram is being dealt a similar hand but not being ignored by a coach because he definitely wasn't with Saban at Alabama, but he's being dealt the same criticisms Emmitt experienced from the media, fans, and scouts I don't need to go into detail what they are because you already know.

I don't know why Spurrier would not have liked him. Emmitt was drafted in 90 and Spurrior's first year at Florida was 90. Perhaps that's why Emmitt came out as a Jr., IDK.

Ingram is not my first choice as our 1st round pick but I would not be disappointed with him because I believe he is a guy who will have a very successful career in the NFL assuming he goes to a team with a decent OL. If you pick a guy like Ingram, I think you have a guy who can give you 20 to 25 productive carries in the NFL. A guy who can catch the ball and who can pick up the blitz. I think if you draft this kid, you do a couple of things. One, you free up space and roster spots because you can then move TC and Barber. If you have Felix and Ingram, I think you can make due with a much lessor back. Not many backs are worth a 1st Rd pick IMO but this kid is. I think he's a franchise back. I think he helps your OL, he helps your QB and he helps your defense because he's the kind of back that I think you can hand the ball to and control the clock with. Who ever drafts him is going to get a heck of a football player IMO.

If only in my dreams...

Starter - Mark Ingram
Change of Pace/Speed Back - Felix Jones
3rd Down Back - Lonyae Miller

all the reports say love got abused all week long during senior bowl practices.

He got abused by Ohio State in the bowl game as well. His stock has really went down these last few weeks.

At #9 Peterson, Jordon, Miller and a few others potentially land a "Playmaker" at a percieved need position instead reaching for an OT or another RB who is alot the one Dallas already drafted.

I agree with all of this.
