I't happened right in front of me, I couldn't tell if the center forarmed or punched his throat. Like i said im not making an excuse for Al but just throwing out what i saw.

I remember seeing Al running over to the sideline pissed and grabbing his face area earlier in the game, it is still no excuse
It was his throat, The same dude took a shot at his throat. The only problem is that the camera didn't catch it.

Even if this is true, its still not an excuse for what Hayesworth did.

I'm calling BS

Complete and utter BS.

He keeps saying "I'm not making an excuse for Al", yet that's EXACTLY what he's doing.

And he's doing it with an outright LIE.

It is very possible that Gurode hit Haynesworth in the throat. Lots of things happen in the trenches inadvertanlty. It doesn't seem likely that Gurode actually reared back and punched him in the throat. I think Albert would have mentioned that by now if it did happen.

They ought to worry about other things like winning football games legitametly and not making excuses. It is a football game, however what fat albert did was uncalled for...

Anyone who has played DT with pads on knows that getting hit in the throat is a part of the game. I got hit in the throat and face lots of times as the blocker's hands would slide up off my chest and into my throat or face. It is painful and pisses you off but it is part of the game. If Haynesworth was crying about that then he is a total woos on top of being a cheapshot punk.

I have also played Center and hit a lot of guys in the throat/face so it worked out for me. You try to get your hands in his chest and get low so you can get some leverage against him and sometimes your hands slip. It isn't something the OL wants to have happen because you lose your leverage when it does, unless of course you hit him hard enough to make him back off. :D

Total BS

Fat Al would have mentioned it yesterday and nothing happens on a football field that doesn't get captured on tape. They have dozens of camers from every angle imaginable. Even if they missed it yesterday, someone would have gone back and found it by now. I guarrantee someone has been going through game films all day today looking for something that may have happened before the incident. We would have heard about it by now.

If that in fact happened, it explains frustration on Albert's part, but why did he wait until he was manhandled by Gurode, allowing JuJo to score before he decided to do something about it? Sounds like he was getting his butt kicked all day.

It looks to me like he got annoyed and decided to hurt someone.

You seemed to find one of the few that was like that. Most were very upset and thought that Haynesworth was a thug. Most Titans fans were embarassed and apologized for Haynesworth's behavior. For the MOST part the Titans fans were VERY CLASSY. Many were calling for him to be suspended for the year or be kicked out of the league entirely. There was even one poster that said he would rather lose the rest of the games this year rather than having Haynesworth on his team.

Regardless of whether or not it happens during gameplay, this wasn't the case. Unless Fat Albert was holding a grudge from a play in the first half (which i suppose is possible, weak, but possible), then this is purely BS.
I just went back over the third quarter before the incident, and Gurode never touched Haynesworth until the TD play. He didn't go at his throat on that one either, as is clearly seen in the replay shown several minutes later in the telecast. The plays prior to the incident, Gurodes assignment called for him to block Starks on the play following Glenn's INT. The next play he pulled to the right on the reverse to T. Glenn, and Gurode touched no one the entire play. The play folowing that, Gurode blocks Starks again. The next play was the actual incident. On this play Gurode hit haynesworth under the pads and got about a yard push back against him, but was ole'd at the end. Haynesworth then took off Gurodes helmet blah blah. At no point in time during the 3rd quarter did Haynesworth grab his throat and suggest Gurode hit him there.

I'm rewatching the rest of the game now.

It didn't happen on our first series.

One of the reasons why I doubt it is because it seems that Gurode lacks that mean streak. I just don't get that feeling that he really has one. Now, he just might have one and I do remember things being said about it while he was in college, but it wasn't like he is like Erik Williams or Larry Allen.

I don't know that I agree with that.

I remember him blocking guys through the back of the endzone when he played at Colorado.

I've heard several analysts say that he indeed has quite a nastiness to him. I'm not sure how well informed they are, but i've heard it said. Given that, he certainly doesn't lool like he has one.

Like I said, I have heard of this on college, but I have yet to see it in the NFL.
