Where is it?
Are our players held accountable for their actions or lack thereof?
Does Wade have a spine?
At the end of last season Wade said he recognized that he needed to change. Has he changed? Is it getting through to the players?

I just can't get past thinking a good contingent of players probably view Wade as a joke. A town crier... A bus driver...

Is there any accountability for anything at present? Jimmy Johnson would have had heads for dinner after coming out in our first Cowboys Stadium regular season game in front of over 105,000 fans with the memory of the last Texas Stadium loss still fresh in the minds... only to go out and lay an egg in the new stadium opener.

All is quiet at VR. Is Wade hibernating? Someone help me here. Is there accountability for actions at present?

Every player in every interview I've watched so far has said the same thing over and over "It isn't anyone's fault buy mine."

Except for Gurode. He stood up and said that Romo is taking too much of the blame and it isn't right. He said we win as a team and we lose as a team. Gurode said we as fans can have no idea of how personally Tony takes losing and a bad performance.

Scandrick admitted to not being able to sleep on Sunday night. He said he doesn't care if he starts or not, he only wants to win.

The accountability is there for those who want to see it.

I believe these guys actually care. Maybe our Cowboys just lost to the better team on this given Sunday.

Oh.. So, in other words, Wade basically let's the inmates run the asylum? That rarely works.

Wade is just keeping the seat warm for Shanny or Holmgreen next year. I said before the season started that we would have to go to at least the NFC Championship game in order for Wade to keep his job.

I think there is no chance in hell we make it to the NFCCG with Wade at the helm. I wish I was wrong on this, but I just dont see it.

I would have fired Wade in the lockerroom last night and made Garrett the interm HC, at least that way we see what we have in Garrett. Kinda like what SF did with Singletary last year. But Jerry wont do it, so we have to waste another season with fat boy Wade making excuses after excuses.

That's what you got out of my post?

Wade has preached accountability the whole offseason, each and every player interviewed immediately and publicly took responsibility for their play, and you see it as Wade letting the inmates run the asylum???

Yes. I do. Please highlight any occasion where it may have appeared as though Wade was holding himself or others accountable for what has occurred thus far. Stop banging your head. That rattling noise is killing me.

What was the cumulative record of the interim head coaches last season? Go ahead, look it up. NFL.com is your friend.

And once you saw that you didn't like Garrett, fire him too? The guys you assume Wade is keeping the seat warm for had one thing in common. Their owners didn't acquiesce to knee-jerk reactionary fans who wanted them out in 2.125 seasons at the head of the team.

The post game interviews and interviews today are full of players taking accountability for their actions. Now you switch it to Wade solely? :lmao2::lmao2::lmao::lmao::laugh2::laugh2:

You assume that things are going to get better with more time, I dont agree. The team last night was the same team we saw at the end of last year. Nothing has changed!!!! We still have crucial penalties that kill drives, we still turn the ball over repeatedly, we still abandon the running game even when it is working, we still blow leads in the 4th quarter on a regular basis, we still cant get any turnovers, ect..........To make matters worse, we cant even get sacks anymore.

Wade said after the Philly fiasco that he had to change and he would change and we would see a different team. So after an enitre offseason, basically it was just a bunch of hot air because the same problems are still there.

And now you want to give Wade more time. You talk of not making knee jerk reactions, but when is enough finally enough??? Wade has never won a playoff game as HC in the NFL, never. So I ask again, how much more time must we give him before cutting our loses and moving on???

Obviously two whole seasons wasn't enough. Yet NO ONE, NOT A SOUL was crying for him to be fired last week.

That is without a doubt the very definition of a knee jerk reaction.

Accountability...the most overused word in the sports world.

How does a player saying "my bad", or "I'm to blame" change anything? It doesn't help with execution or discipline. Besides, I always hear about players promising change and better execution, yet they rarely are made.

Who holds who accountable anyway? What's the coach gonna do, fire him? Make him run laps? What? Call him out? Same for the GM.

So you wanna replace the QB? How long will that take, and with who? What about the cap hit? Besides, every player and coach should be in constant evaluation, where if the opportunity arises to increase the talent at a position or staff, it should be done. That's if you know for sure there's a better talent.

Accountability. Yay.

Where were you the entire offseason???

I would say 75% of this board wanted him fired in the lockerroom after the Philly game. Jerry said continuity was more important so we all had to accept it and take Wade at this word that things would change.

Just because we beat Tampa (who ranks just behind us at 31st in defense) doesnt give Wade a pass. In fact, in was very disturbing how the Bucs ran all over us after just firing their offensive coordinator for lack of production.

Wade said that was due to the team not knowing how to run blitz just like he said today the team doesnt know how to play man to man. Another excuse for allowing the secondary to get ripped to shreds.

And you want to give Wade more time................yikes:mad:

Uhh no. This was yet another in a growing resume of games where Dallas outplayed its opponent, but found a way to lose through several boneheaded mistakes. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Dallas would have blown out NY on Sunday had they not committed all the asinine mistakes. They win by a fair amount if they just only have half those mistakes. They win a squeaker if they just had one less bone headed mistake.

And that 75% were wrong then too. Lies, **** lies, and made up statistics???

Those who wanted him fired then are the same ones who'll wine and cheese about the 9-7 record, dismiss the injuries, and blame whomever they have a particular axe to grind with. Happens on every single solitary web forum I have an account with be it for real estate, investments, fishing, photography, or pro sports. There's always a group that has the quick fix that does nothing other than fulfill their joust with that particular windmill.

As for abandoning the run as you mentioned as a point of contention, our last 4 drives consisted of 12 rushes and 8 passes.

Our last drive was 5 rushes, 2 passes. Yep. That adds up to total abandonment of the running game.

The offense is Garrett's baby and Wade doesn't function as Garrett's boss or supervisor.

In reality, Wade functions as a defensive coordinator who has some additional responsibilities.

Jerry's current organizational structure doesn't include a traditional head coach.

is the problem. This team wants to win (im sure of that) but they dont hate losing. They dont hate mistakes. Why? There is no one to answer to. Does this team have anyone with a mean streak. On one side of the coin I understand the "its one game approach" but on the other side its one game that we should not have lost. A game that is important to win just like the rams game last year. You cant give away 1 game in this league.

Just look:

Wade-softer than a new born box of puppies
Romo- Win some you lose some demeanor (even if thats not his feelings that is what he gives off)
D Ware- Beast on the field but he wont get in anyones face. Nice guy
Newman- Nice guy
Davis-Nice guy
Bradie James-Nice guy
Ratliff-Nice Guy
Barber-Nice Guy

I swear Columbo is the only one with a mean streak and he doesnt have the clout or the position to be that guy. I was against it at first but I wish we would have signed Ray Lewis. Someone who keeps everyone at attention.

Who holds people accountable for blown assignments and careless turnorvers. NO ONE.

I also fear that our players are somehow still living off of glory past.

They seem to still think, "We are the Dallas Cowboys ", no matter what they have done lately.

Plus they still are "rock stars" where ever they go, .. they still play in the "Palace in Dallas", the most fabulous venue in all of sports, and they still get in their $80,000 vehicles and drive home to their $500,000 mansions even if they lose.

We need a young, hungry, firey, eager to prove his worth, up and coming coach, .. instead of always going out and getting other teams retreads.

i agree with that; that goes back to working hard in practice, putting players in those positions, critical areas when dumb mistakes and penalties pop up and correcting the players in pads right there in practice and training camp, not game time.
