Seems the fandom is divided or splintered on who is to blame so I thought it’s not All just one thing but many things. Give me your percentages with a brief breakdown as to why. For me it starts at the top and goes down from there.

50% Ownership and Coaches - Owners for getting in the way, coaches for being unqualified. Neither give this team an advantage, we play checkers instead of chess. If you say the players need to play better, coach em up. Play to their strengths instead of your stupid dated schemes.

20% Dak - Often times he holds the ball to long or he steps into the sack. Other times he’s just inaccurate. Some of that is not having chemistry with the receivers and some of that is on him. If he’s the Captain, it’s his job to go beyond and figure out how to get the troops on the same page as him. He needs to anticipate where the receivers are going to be and let the ball fly, this will only come with time. This entire season might just be one big practice session before they start to click.

15% WR’s, TE’s, Zeke - It’s not their fault the scheme is lame but they need to catch the ball when it actually hits their hands. Lots of drops occurring, and turnovers. They also need to get on the same page as the QB and have more awareness, especially when the play breaks down. Don’t just stand there, move around.

15% O-Line - They are not horrid but they are not Top 5 anymore either. Rookie growing pains with Williams and lack of strength, Tyron’s back, La’el playing the right side even though he’s a lefty, and we miss Travis. Looney is decent, Zack is still very solid. Williams and Collins seem to give up the most pressure.

I left out the defense but they could get some more turnovers. Good enough if the offense produced more but will get worn down and exposed if this continues.

Special teams we need some returns to the house..

Edit: Mods typo in title missing “n”

40% coaches
25% Dak
15% OL
10% GM
5% Defense (for barely causing turnovers)

I’ve just seen QBs like Luck, Rodgers, Brees, Ryan and even somewhat Eli take terrible teams around them and do much better than what this team is doing.

The Packers converted a WR to RB midway through the season in 2016

Eli hasn’t won much this year but he typically will at least throw it up and give OBJ and Engram a chance

Bree’s has played with the worst defenses ever in his career and is able to win shootouts

We’ve seen how bad the Colts are without Luck/Peyton. It’s almost LeBron esque. With them Colts are always 10-6/12-4. Without those 2 they’ve been 2-14

Yes the coaches should find a way to scheme around the OL problems and no great WRs but we’ve seen teams like the Seahawks and Vikings turn no name receivers into stars like this team USED to do with the Miles Austin’s of the world

Do we think the coaches will change anything? Really have they ever?

I hope we see some changes. Throwing the ball deep once or twice a game seems like one reasonable change to we could make.

Usually Garrett says we have to execute better. I believe he believes that.

It’s the coach. Jerry built a team that’s at least good enough to go 10-6, nobody here disputes that. You have a defense that can at least contain an explosive offense and keep them under 30, if not mandhandle weak offenses. You have a run game that can control time of possession, and a qb that can game manage with these elements.

The coaches decide not to run Zeke 30 times. The coaches decide not to play action 5 yard passes to the TE and slot receiver on every pass play. The coaches decide not the bootleg the qb away from the pressure, not to rpo, not to qb draw on 1st or 2nd and long. Obvious things that won many games over the last 2 years.

It’s all coaches. Dak doesn’t need to throw for 300 yards. He’s not a franchise quarterback and that’s okay. But he’s asked to do it every game just to bail out the coaches.

Starts at the top. JJ hires his yes man so he can continue to run this team and not be questioned. But for fun.

Coaches
JG - 75%.. if there was more than 100% he would get it. He allows these plays to be called uncontested and likely agrees with the abandoning of the run. It’s his playbook.

Linehan - 20%.. this could easily be much higher. But he is stuck with the same 8 plays to call. Hard to set a defense up or burn a loaded box when you have 5 pass plays to choose from. His has no creativity likely because it’s not allowed. He calls plays and expects the unprepared and unfocused players (JG fault) to execute. When a opposing defense knows the play it has to be executed to perfection to work at all.

Position coaches mainly our O-Line coach - 5%.. he is messing with the technique of a O-Line that was running great.

Players

Dak - 60%.. some of this isn’t his fault, but he runs the show. He holds the ball to long and is either choosing or told by the coaches to hang in the pocket. His passes are inaccurate and his footwork is a mess. The staff ruined his confidence in the falcons game but it’s his fault he hasn’t recovered. Let him run the read option and he will improve.

WR - 10%.. I am seeing some drop balls and running right to the defenders at times. Can’t blame them totally because well look at what we have. Beez is it and he is shining brightly cause the other are dull. Gallup needs to step up.

O-Line - 15%.. they are not gelled or playing conditioned, missing blocks and a rookie getting pushed back and again this is not all there fault. No preseason action and a line coach tinkering around. This group will improve as we go.

RB - 5%.. Elliot was not in game ready condition. Again the HC and GM didn’t let him take 1 snap in preseason to get into sync. It’s showed last week of all weeks. 3 weeks in he should be better. He was not focused at all. Dropped a 3rd down pass when he had a step and could have turned it up with no one there. Wasn’t aware of his surroundings and had stepped out on a easy TD pass. Fumbles at th end of the game and finished us off. He took enough points off the board to win. A easy 7 and if no fumble we were already in FG range. The dropped pass likely cost us at least another FG or points drive. He has to concentrate.

All this can be fixed by a coaching staff. I wonder if the players have checked out?

Damn I gotta agree with the Eagles fan for the most part.

They are using the players correctly and playing to their strengths. Run the wheels off of Zeke so we can hopefully get more 3rd and shorts. Let Dak run more because he’s struggling throwing downfield. Play action pass more and sprinkle in a few gadget plays to Austin.

I really do not understand the play calling at all. Whenever something seems to work they tend to go away from it for some strange reason.

in general, the QB can make or break you more than anything else, so I tend to give that position the highest percentage of credit or blame for success or failure. maybe that's not fair but whatever.

That’s a good breakdown but you were already at 95% before u assessed Dak 60%

Math is not my strong suit either so I cheated and used a calculator:p

The most bang for the buck change we could actually do today is to dump Linehan. With anyone. Or no one. I'd rather have Dak call his own plays than another day of Linehan. I'll take Kellen Moore over Linehan.

The biggest problem is the OC, going back to last year.

The play calling is atrocious. Linehan simply had no thoughts on how to beat the press man coverage with a stacked box that teams moved to against us.

It's not complicated. Football 101. And with Dak being able to run, we've got more options than most teams. Run Zeke. Put speed on the field to threaten deep on 1st and 2nd down. Read option for Dak. Play action. RPO where Dak keeps an eye out for the WRs beating a corner off the snap.

If teams could get away with stacking the box and press man coverage with little help, they would do it all day long against all teams. They don't, because they can't get away with it against a competent OC.

Beyond the play calling, there was the Chaz Green fiasco, where we took an adequate T, turned him into a crappy guard, then an awful T who left the QB shell shocked to this day while the OC looked on.

The offense has issues, but it's impossible to assess how big the other issues are until the disaster that is Linehan is removed.
