Adam "Pacman" Jones In Rehab

Well, as long as he stays in in-treatment rehab for four weeks it will be hard for him to find trouble.

I dont know Hostile about him being back with the Cowboys after what Wade Phillips said and Jerry Jones.
You'll have to point out to me where either of them said "gone for good and won't be back." Until you can, I am not buying it.

Suspended Cowboys cornerback Adam Jones will begin alcohol treatment today at an undisclosed location in the Dallas area, according to a source.

Jones, working with former Cowboys cornerback Deion Sanders and a friend, began the process of trying to get back into the league after the NFL suspended him Tuesday.

The league has required Jones to go into treatment following his fight last week with his bodyguard in a hotel bathroom. Dallas police were called to the scene and determined Jones was drinking.

Jones was suspended indefinitely. He will be able to apply for reinstatement after missing four games.

The Associated Press reported Jones will not have his probation revoked in Georgia as a result of his fight. Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard said probation officers decided not to pursue revocation proceedings because Jones wasn't arrested for the incident.

If you choose to believe that it is a lifestyle choice over a disease that's fine, medical evidence contradicts you, but I am sure you don't care......

Medical evidence - funny really. So how did he contract this disease?

Did he catch it from someone else? Did it develope in his body somehow that over time he became an alcoholic?

An addiction, yes, but to call it a disease is laughable.

By the way, I am rooting for him to turn his life around too. I hope he does. I never really thought he had changed but it is not like there is no hope for him. The problem is that by the time 4 weeks rolls around he will be rusty again and will not have praticed either.

Hopefully for the Cowboys sake Scandrick and Jenkins will have filled his spot very well and Newman will be coming back.

The fact that he went is step one that he's at least at this point seeming to acknowledge that he's got an issue that he really needs to get fixed.

As WG pointed out in her posting, the LEAGUE required he went. He didn't go voluntarily. And that is, again, symptomatic of what I felt when talk first began about acquiring him and why I was against it.

Namely, that he had not changed and was simply being handheld and walked through the steps necessary to be reinstated. Not that he felt he needed to change.

Everything I read in his quotes prior to coming here said to me basically "I'm going to do what I have to.....right now."

Wanna bet he stills find trouble in re-hab ?

Good for him. Regardless of his motive or if he was "forced", I hope he gets the help he needs.

Actually, the WHO (World Healthy Organization) recognizes it as a disease. The only reason it has not been classified a disease in the U.S. is because of the ramifications regarding insurance and disabilities.

Update.............

Just heard on ESPN that he is considering rehab, but hasn't entered yet.

From a "Get Pacman back into the NFL" standpoint, it's a great strategy. Blame all your problems on alcohol - then show the commissioner that you've taken full responsibilty and acceptance of this disease followed by the subsequent treatment of it. Brilliant!

Hhahaaha!

I don't think Pacman is worth wasting any more time on, I think it will always be something with him. I think we would be better off in the long haul to just move on and chalk it up to a risk that did not pay off.
