summerisfunner said:but think about it, noone knew who Delhomme was, yet BP still decided to bring him in, so he obviously saw something in him, not as much as Fox did, but still
I think BP knows more about QBs than we give him credit for
The Answer said:Here is some more interesting tidbits regarding the comments Parcells made about Henson. The Answer saw this story on NFL Total Access earlier as well and heard Schefter make a comment that Henson was 'on the bubble' and might not even make it through camp.
This is definitely an issue that Hensonites and haters alike should be keeping a close eye on in the coming weeks.....

NOT HIGH ON HENSON
Those who continue to wait for Dallas quarterback Drew Henson to blossom could be waiting a long time.
Though Henson received the playing time he needed this spring in the NFL Europe League with the Rhein Fire, Cowboys coach Bill Parcells did not come away impressed with the skills his quarterback demonstrated.
Asked about Henson's development, Parcells said, in the blunt way that only he can, "I was hoping for a little bit more, to tell you the truth."
With cuts about three months away, it's not too early to put Henson on the bubble.
The Answer said:The Answer has full confidence in Parcells regarding the back up qb's on this roster. He knows Romo is the better guy and that Henson is simply lacking the 'intangibles' it takes to make it in this league.

summerisfunner said:I guess I'll never convince you otherwise, but look at some of the QBs who have had great success under BIll:
VInny had a career year in '98 under BIll, w/ the Jets, went to the AFC Championship game
Simms won a Super Bowl
Jeff Hostetler won a Super Bowl
Bledsoe went to a Super Bowl and attempted the most passes in NFL history, in a single season
and it may be a stretch, but him and Fox were the only ones who brought in Delhomme

no doubt, but nevertheless

Waffle said:If it had been reported that Romo was "on the bubble" instead of Henson, I'm confident there would have been a chorus of cheers from several of you. This is just the overall impression I get. And based on the 300+ post threads we usually get in a Henson/Romo thread, any attempt to deny this would be laughable.
Instead of defending Romo like Henson is being defended here, would it be unfair to say that most of the responses would have been filled with the predictable "he's been playing too much golf", "he had no pedigree", "he was too cocky", "what did you expect from an undrafted guy", etc?
I don't understand why there has to be a "QB camp" one must reside firmly in when it comes to these two guys. For some reason, Henson seems to have a majority of this forum hoping/thinking he's the second coming of Aikman. Are some of you still clinging to that yellow and tattered 6 year old scouting report declaring Henson a #1 pick? Just asking.
Neither of these guys have done anything in the NFL to date. I think Parcells analysis of Henson in NFLE was honest and accurate. If Henson isn't truly the answer (no pun intended) at QB, I'd rather free up that roster spot for someone else. And the same goes for Romo.
ConcordCowboy said:Coming from a man who put the Cowboys fortune in the hands of Carter and Testeverde...Lets just say he's made some mistakes at QB before...So I don't really trust Parcells all that much when it comes to making all the right QB decisions.
The Answer said:The Answer will never understand why Romo doesn't get the same attention and ridiculous hype that Henson does. This kid wasn't even drafted, and he's been with this organization from the beginning. People talk about Henson being a 'homegrown' QB, but the irony in all of this is that HE WASN'T EVEN DRAFTED BY DALLAS.
It's pointless trying to reason with the Hensonites, because even when he's long gone people will still be argueing that he 'never got a fair shake' by the coaching staff....but my questions are WHY WOULD HE? And WHO CARES?
You EARN your spot on an NFL roster by performing, plain and simple. We have a top starter at the position and the last thing we should be worrying about is 'the future' at the position considering we are built to win in THE PRESENT.

As far as your statement that we shouldn't be worrying about the future. I say, BS. A good coach, a good GM, a good organization ALWAYS has the future as the primary focus. Today will take care of itself provided that you planned for the future, in the past. If you always are focused on today, you will always be behind the times.[/QUOTE]

Oh...THAT'S how you could say it.
