NFL radio hosts on Sirius radio...were singing their praises today. Talked about great drafts...gave McClay a lot of credit...they also said Jerry has dragged his feet on Dak so that he can move on from him and MM if they have a bad year.
Well let’s see if that’s the plan and Jerry will stick to it. I’m all for proving it this year philosophy. I don’t think that’s what will happen because Jerry at this point doesn’t like the unknown

It’s gotta be Purdy. Dude is 17-4 as a starter, NFL record in completion %, highest career td%, highest career average yards per attempt, best alltime passer rating BY A MILE once he qualifies… And the majority online opinion is “Oh he just has good weapons, anyone would be STATISTICALLY THE GREATEST QB EVER if they had Mccaffrey and Kittle.”
Can’t say that because look at Hurts he has AJ Brown and Devonta and he stinks. You still gotta be able to play you need more than weapons. Only knock on Purdue is he hasn’t done it long but he’s legit IMO.

I agree he wouldn’t be, but we also know Goff would not be nearly as good if you stripped him of his weapons. Yet Goff is commonly a top 10 QB in people’s lists, and Purdy is no where to be seen… despite the fact that Purdy has been significantly better than Goff both years he’s been in the league

We also saw a lot of Garoppolo in this offense, and while he won too, he was not nearly as good doing it
Yeah but you bring up his record and give him that credit. Jimmy also had a good record yet no one gave him that credit.

I agree with Stephen for once. Joe Burrow is making $55 million.

Dak gets all the endorsements from being a Dallas Cowboy. No state income tax. Why does he deserve $60 million?

Wow...Stephen talking about the lack of state taxes. LOL. He is going to get absolutely worked on these contracts by these agents or completely screw them up....probably both.
The agents love Jerry.

I think Purdy is damn good but would he be the legend everyone thinks he is if he played for Carolina? You have to acknowledge he's got great weapons and great coaching.

Sure, but at the same time that doesn’t mean it’s all he is. Put CJ Stroud in Carolina where he’s running for his life every play, now what is he? That works for a lot of QBs, yet they’re highly rated and Purdy is often ranked mid (13-17 range) despite being statistically superior than pretty much anybody

A “tough spot” of their own making. Not something that they’ll ever admit obviously. Jerry will try to blame anything and anyone other than himself or his unqualified son.

Now it’s “DirecTV!”
Exactly...............they knew the market was only going to get higher, so by waiting they painted themselves into a corner.

Oh boy, the state income tax argument.

That's code for the Cowboys initial offers to these guys were lowballs.
Yeah, the no state income tax really is not a deal maker, though the FO thinks it is.
It only saves them taxes on home games, and endorsements. And how many players will get those endorsements.

They still must pay taxes in the states that have states taxes for away games.
Now they may get part of that back by filing a state income tax return. If that can be done, as it is an entertainment tax, not a regular W-2 taxed income.
That I am not sure how it works in that category.

I wonder if Stephen brings up Texas property taxes in negotiations?
