I'm sure the Joneses would tell us that they are saving that money to pay Parsons. I agree with Adam's take. There are plenty of ways to take care of tomorrow without compromising today. The Cowboys went into this season compromised. The season fell apart when injuries hit, but Dallas did not put itself in a position to keep up/catch the other playoff-caliber teams because it did nothing to upgrade a few positions with the money it had available.

Funny thing is this place has it's bipolar views and hot takes, huge fanbase so not surprised, but twitter is also the same way.
Not like twitter is full of sane people on every topic.

That was always the plan the Jones clan came up with.

This is a salary cap reset year, roll over as much as possible, pay Parsons next year and create room to get some FA's in here.

Had they resigned both at this point last year they would have had money to spend

Remember him? He was literally the reason I came aboard here. 2011. Imminent labor strife.

I was curious about the uncapped year and if we could possibly get rid of some bad contracts Jerry handed out to keep the Parcells roster together, and get leg up on Garrett’s “process.”

No one knew a thing about it at the time, and eventually Jerry and Snyder were the only ones who tried it, then Mara moaned to Goodell and we know what happened from there.

I recall people saying that he was actually Stephen Jones. Haha. We can only wish the guy actually running the cap was as bright as Adam.

In their defense (which I hate doing), it isn't clear that either Dak or CeeDee would have signed early. Lamb, in particular, was waiting on the Jefferson deal, and the Joneses have pointed that out.

And we need the 20 mils in 2025 to account for prescotts 89 mils. So we will carry over that 20 mils to 25 just because we need it there.
