false starts??? has nothing to do with protecting the quarterback ok...and sometimes flozell commits dumb penalties like this past Sunday that wouldn't of changed the outcome of the play....so no...

Yep if Justin Tuck isn't tripped and on the ground then he probably just walks into the end zone to talk to fans while Romo moves up in the pocket.

Adams' penalties
Cowboys offensive tackle Flozell Adams is the most penalized player in the NFL over the past two seasons combined. In 2007 and '08, Adams drew 27 penalties for 180 yards. In his career, Adams has 87 penalties for 599 yards, including 56 false starts.

How should this be fixed?

He hasnt had a false start or a holding penalty this yr and he is pretty much blocking out anything in the way. He's been great in run and pass blocking.

Cant believe anyone is complaining about his play so far this yr. He came in camp in great shape, had a great camp and preseason and has continued it through two games so far in the regular season.

I've watched Wade and he doesn't do a thing when a player screws up but frown. He's terrible.

Perhaps you should go get face to face with Flozell, and rip him a new one...

Or more accurately, face to navel... :D

Flo's always false started, even under Parcells. Its just who he is.

But he's still worth it. He's a darn good LT, even if no one wants to see it.
No one will admit that, but take Flo away and Romo stays on the run.

What we NEED to do is draft 1 in the first or second round, either that or spend an arm and a leg for 1 in FA that's in their mid to upper 20s.

I'd like to know how many drives he's killed over the years.

This guy consistently plays agains tthe Demarcus Ware of other teams, and we RARELY really need to help him. Last year was a joke. Flo played without 1 arm for 2-3 games and we had NOBODY that could spell him for a game or two.

Flo is one of the top 5 guys on team we CAN NOT afford to lose. Even with drafting a TOP LT in draft next year, we need Flo for another year or two even.

Flo looks fit and focussed this year.

Thank You. The key point is we go into every game regardless of the opponent never worrying about Romo's blind side or having to give the LT help. There are vey few teams that can do this, and we're fortunate to be one of them.

And Larry...I actually think Flo was injured for more than 2-3 games. But like you said, the sad part was we had noone on the roster that could do perform better than a player playing with effectively one arm.

Losing Adams would be devastating to our offense and I it is as plain as day.

I looked at the 2007 and 2008 seasons.

32 games played
21 games in which Flozell had a penalty
28 penalties on 28 different drives
15 times Dallas overcame the penalty to continue the drive
13 times Dallas was not able to overcome the penalty

28 Drives resulted in:
8 punts
4 turnovers
1 turn over the ball on downs
1 missed FG
2 made FGs
11 TDs
1 run out the clock at the end of the game

I forgot to count how many offensive drives Dallas had over the last two seasons. I am sure it is well over 100. Just 5 drives per game puts a team at 160 for 32 games. Flozell's penalties "killed" 13 of those drives.

In the 21 games Flozell had a penalty Dallas won 14 games and lost 7 games.

In the 11 games Flozell had a penalty that "killed a drive" Dallas won 6 games and lost 5 games.
