Adding a corner in the draft

We draft one high, bye to diggs??

If you draft a corner high and you think he can compete you strongly consider moving Diggs for picks. He’s good and he will merit significant draft pick compensation (as it stands today). He might bring you a 1st and possibly even change.

We can’t pay everyone and stay under the cap. We need to be proactive on that front and maximize our return on the picks we hit on.

Admittedly, the need for another CB in 2022 wasn't a desperate one, however the fact that it didn't bode well for the future was quite obvious. I'm reasonably sure that we're going to make CB one of our picks in the first half of the upcoming draft. Let's hope it works out well. Let's face the fact that Kelvin Joseph was simply a desperate replacement for the CB that we had missed and drafted him in desperation. Now, we’re still looking.

I keep seeing people put corner as a need but I don’t understand how. It’s certainly a nice to have for the future but it’s a headache for today.

Who are you cutting, and what opportunities are you giving a rookie to develop? And if we are adding a DB, wouldn’t you rather a safety that can play single high if Hooker gets injured (also in his last year). It’s the one position we don’t have cover for in our secondary.

I dont think Lewis and Brown are officially OUT either. I think they should move on from them, but the FO set themselves up to take BPA if that a corner like Porter at 26 go for it..if not pass..its that simple for this, draft no reaches, projects, or projections post injuries, get the best payers that can help you NOW. no overthinking

You can only afford to pay CeeDee or Diggs. You cannot afford to pay them both. You will be paying Parsons for sure. If a top WR falls, you take him and look forward to dumping CeeDee. If a top corner falls, you take him, and look forward to dumping Diggs.

Lamb is much better than Diggs. Also without a no 1 receiver we have seen that this offense can't function at all. If were to sign one, which I am on bored with it needs to be Lamb.

As for a corner if the value is there I see zero reason to pass on one. 4 corners are needed and likely 1-2 will be hurt for some length of the season.

It's a need since Gilmore only has a one year deal, Diggs' contract is up soon, and both Joseph and Wright have been busts.

i think it’s more the overwhelming talent in this years crop, coupled with draft position and future looking. even if the guy wasn’t a starter immediately there are opportunities for snaps regardless, and worst case you have a guy with a year under his belt w/ 4 more years

Wright, Goodwin and Joseph are all expendable especially if Izzy becomes a player.

You’re pretty much keeping three corners that only play special teams.

Goodwin is a special teams ace i dont look for us to move off of him but they can send joseph and wright packing and Ill lose 0 sleep.
