I have been saying for weeks now that Browns better side is the right side. For me it's a no brainer. Mo gets the left side (which he has played much better on) Brown stays on the right where he will be a big play maker and OScan stays in the slot. Carr can go to the bench and come in for dime, injury or if someone starts to stink it up.

I was just thinking this morning how beastly our defense has been in the last several weeks. Let's go back and revisit the gauntlet.

Steelers
Ravens
Commanders
Vikings
Gnats
Bucs

Prior the the Steeler game, many of us considered this stretch to be our defining part of the season. What did we do? We simply took the gauntlet & flipped it upside down going 5-1 over the course of the past several weeks. Much of that time was spent without our starting CB Mo Claiborne who had really started to show those distinct qualities that led to us drafting him top 10 before getting hurt.

Fast forward to today. On one side, you have Carr. The elder statesman that frustrates many of us to no end but still holds it down regardless. In the slot, you have my boy OScan. A wonderfully talented guy that can play several positions extremely well. At the other corner, you have this fantastic late round draft pick rook by the name of Anthony Brown. What does he do? He just goes in and pretty much locks down the top WR for most other teams.

Anthony Freaking Brown. Man. I'm telling you. This guy is a beast at the corner position. His smothering coverage capability has been forcing QBs to more often look for their second reads which has, in turn, helped our defensive line get to the QB. Sure... DL pressure helps the secondary but it kinda goes both ways in that respect. Coverage sacks carry just as much weight as anything else.

So I ask you.. When Mo is ready to return, where do you place him? I am finding it incredibly difficult to say you take Anthony Brown off of the field. Seriously... This guy is a rookie balling out like this. In many ways, his story is equivalent to that of Zeke and Dak.. Just without the pomp & circumstance. So where do you place Mo? Do you tell Mo that you're going to slowly work him back into some dime packages and use that as an opportunity to keep Brown on the field? I welcome feedback because I really like Brown. Carr isn't coming off. My boy OScan isn't coming off without a fight. So what do you do? I'm of the opinion that you go with the bold portion above. Your thoughts?
Its not just Zeke and Dak but Collins also took the starting spot. This is a different team and I think Brown is the best corner not named Mo. It comes down to Scandrick in my opinion, other then that game sealing interception he hasn't been great

I have a tough time committing much to a player who in the course of 5 years has only played in 60% of the games. That is Mr. Claiborne. Yes he did play very very well in his 7 games this year. Half of our games. In the last 3 years he has played in about 48%. How long do you hold on to the hope he gets anywhere near 14 games or so?
That's why he wouldn't command a ton of money. Another 1 year team friendly deal

I think they'll keep things fluid. The starters will be starters in title only and it will come down to who the coaches like the best in a particular gameplan against particular receivers.

I dont think Mo is gonna get a long term deal anywhere. I think he will get another 1 year deal. I could honestly see them both back in Dallas on very short term contracts.

Carr could get more then Dallas os willing to pay possibly, being that he is very reliable. However I don't think Mo gets a multi year deal, and I dont think he will leave Dallas for a one year deal

Totally agree. Mo came back to Dallas last year when he had every reason to leave, I do think he resigns for essentially the same one year contract again.

Carr is tricky, they won't really know his value until both sides see the FA market. But I think there is basically 50/50 odds that he is back in Dallas next year. I also think the odds are very high the team drafts a CB high in the draft.

They seemed to have really looked at CBs high the last couple drafts and things they either went a different direction or moved the one they took to FS

I would think Mo gets eased back into things a bit. But I'd see think about moving Brown into Carrs spot and Mo back into his old spot if he's healthy and the same player before injury.

Yea Carr has done ok but he can be a liability and I don't think he is better then Mo, and Brown has been developing at a solid rate. Now if he can just get some TO

I think you stay with brown till mo is 100 % and shows he can play, then use him part time or in certain situations.
But no telling what coaches do, it is up to them.
Jones boys may want Mo back as soon as he is sort of ready, and or for playoffs.
I think you stick with the guy who has been playing.

Anthony Brown has played very well. It will be hard to take him out. I don't have any idea what the coaches will do when they have to make this tough decision.

Good point -- I'll trust the staff to watch the practice film and decide who's likely to play the best when the time comes. They'll see both on a daily basis, which is a tremendous advantage to have in making that choice. Here's hoping Mo is able to return 100% and football ready if it's him.

Where mattjames or whatever his name is to tell us how bad Dak is and that Brown is a scrub? Guy is so clueless.

Anyway, I agree with you...Collins has received no talk but he has played solidly all year but has really been more of a factor the last few games getting pressure along with David Irving. This defense has improved over the year and hopefully might get a little boost with Gregory. I am not expecting a lot, but would be nice if he can get the edge a few times, especially if Crawford, Lawrence and Mayowa are all dinged. Consider that we are doing well on defense as a team despite the fact guys like Ryan Davis and Zach Moore are having to play.

Didn't hear anything about Randy in practice yesterday, wonder how that went. Heck, don't even know if Jackson cleared waivers.....I figure he did.

Edit, saw about Randy, still don't know about Jackson.

Yeah. I completely forgot to mention Collins. Ol Maliek is balling out of control too. What an incredible draft thus far. If that nerve starts firing and we get Jaylon on the field next year, plus a little action from Rico, you might mess around & see a 15-1 season.

I agree, I think if Gregory can provide just a little boost will go a long way.

Why do folks want to cut Carr and keep Scandrick?

Carr has been the better of the two this year.
