Adoree Jackson just got released

Cowboys only have 8 million to fix their D. Not going to be put towards another corner as I agree it will be put towards a vet interior DL.

Couldn't stay healthy last 2 seasons and owed 10.2 million in 5th year option. I don't think they would have picked up the 5th year option if he couldn't play when healthy. Availability probably played the biggest factor here.

Same with LVE. Why pick up the option? LVE just can’t stay healthy. Not worth it.

Stephen Jones doesnt care about fans thoughts,i never hate Jerry but i hate this guy.i hope Charlotte jones takes over once Jerry goes.

I think it was the $10 million cost for his 5th year option. The Titans decided to use that cap space elsewhere.

that was the first thought that jumped to my mind. May just not be worth a $10 million dollar cap hit and they aren’t convinced to sign long term

No, but I think I’d pay Jackson somewhere in between that and what Dallas paid to keep Jourdan Lewis.

I don’t see signing a vet CB either
If I could I’d add the best DT I could and draft another CB instead of signing one
We have brown, Diggs,Lewis and I think we go CB in the draft
One of the top CB and you have 4 pretty solid CB

Question:

IMO CB is a possible 1st pick. Farley or Surtain. If they sign Jackson, CB is no longer an early pick?

This is a defensive scheme that is very specific in terms of physical profile for the corner position. The Cowboys already resigned a guy with a similar physical profile to Jackson in Jourdan Lewis. Neither Lewis nor Jackson profiles as an outside corner in this scheme. I don't see the Cowboys pursuing this.

Also, Adoree Jackson has always been a better name than football player. Now, that doesn't mean that he isn't potentially (or in reality) better than Jourdan Lewis, but Jackson will not solve the secondary problems on this team.

If the team plans on drafting a corner at 10, or even in the 2nd round, there’s no use in signing a FA.

I would rather draft Surtain or Farley then sign this guy. More control at a cheaper price. If you hit in draft with that pick, your secondary looks solid for the next 4-5 years with Diggs on one side and Surtain or Farley on the other.

Unless they are going to sign Jackson as a slot DB and put Lewis at FS, where all along I felt he was best suited. There is not reason to spend on Jackson. Money should be spent on a vet FS, vet DT, and vet LB. We should be able to sign upgrades on Woods (FS), Crawford (DT), Lee (LB) for 8 million this season.

Kazee - FS
Shelton - DT
KJ Wright - LB

That is what I would do.

Then draft best player available on D, after your first pick of either Surtain/Farley.

I'll ask again. What makes Chido a starter and Jackson a depth guy?
Chido is better

I'm not going back and forth with you, because there's nothing I can say that you will give any validity to, you're just going to hump PFF's grades.
