this guy was released by the saints, i say we bring this guy in right away , sign him to the practice squad and send him to europe next year to get him some time on the field, what do you guys think?

I wouldnt be opposed to that at all...He is a very good athlete.Let him come in see if he can do anything if not send him packing

I have been wanting this guy for a while I was hoping we would draft him

I would have no problem with that.

AGREED...post haste!!!

He hasn't been released. Here are N.O.'s cuts per espn.

nor.gif
New Orleans Saints: DE Anders Akerstrom, TE Mike Banks, CB Fred Booker, CB Matthew Clark, LB Levar Fisher, WR Talman Gardner, DT Howard Green, WR Keron Henry, G Augie Hoffmann, RB Keith Joseph, G Dwayne Ledford, T Ikechuku Ndukwe, WR Nate Poole, LB Kebel Rohloff, FB Nate Schurman, G Chad Setterstrom, WR Chris Vance, DE Jimmy Verdon, CB Jimmy Willams, WR Chase Lyman to reserve injured.

What was the big rap on this kid? I remember something about character issues but not the specifics. I know little about him beyond that.

Darn...I was getting excited...I like his potential better than either of our guys...it was too good to be true...the one time I saw him in preseason, he looked great.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- Former Florida State quarterback Adrian McPherson could face another gambling trial after a jury could not reach a verdict Friday.

A mistrial was declared when the jury deadlocked 5-1 for conviction.

McPherson was accused of gambling on college and professional games, including those he played in, by placing bets over the Internet.

McPherson was facing up to 60 days in jail and a $500 fine for the second-degree misdemeanor.

"It's not what I wanted it to be," McPherson said at a news conference.

Prosecutor Georgia Cappleman said the state will retry the case. McPherson's attorney, Grady Irvin Jr., said he hopes to avoid a retrial by working out an agreement with prosecutors.

"We will continue to stay prayerful and hopeful that this entire circus, or episode, will come to an end at some time," Irvin said.

County Judge Tim Harley declared a mistrial because the jury could not reach a verdict. Juror Ben Turner said the jury voted 5-1 to convict McPherson. Turner said he was among the majority.

The six-member panel deliberated for about 10 hours Thursday and Friday. A transcript of some testimony jurors requested earlier was read aloud to them Friday.

"Everyone agreed that the evidence presented was accurate ... and showed Adrian involved with betting," Turner said as he left the courthouse. "But unfortunately it wasn't a unanimous decision."

Cappleman was philosophical about narrowly missing a conviction.

"That's the way it goes," she said. "You've got to convince all six [jurors]."

McPherson did not testify during his trial. He still faces separate felony charges later this summer, accused in one case of stealing a check and in another of bouncing several checks.

WG if you go to the saints website he's not listed on their depth chart and theere is an article out there asking if Miami should sign him or Davey at qb. It's a scription article that you have to pay for so I haven't read it just the headline. Could he have been one of the first set of cuts?

Well if someone can find a source showing him as cut, then I'll delete my post. No problem on my end, just want to make to sure the facts are clear.

I don't have a clue. I've done google searchs and yahoo but nothing I can find says one way or the other. the list of cuts at NFL.com is missing two teams one being the saints. ESPN roster has him on it but it also has 80 players. I haven't seen him play this preseason but I don'tthink I'd cut him. He has loads of talent.

BTW here is the caption from the article which as I mentioned is a pay article and I'm not willing to pay for it.

Marvez Q&A
Sun-Sentinel.com, FL - Sep 1, 2005
By Alex Marvez. Q: Any chance of the Dolphins signing Rohan Davey or Adrian McPherson to play quarterback? Chuck Radow, Asheville, NC. ...

WG you are right. I just found this

Saints make first round of cuts
NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The New Orleans Saints released quarterback Kliff Kingsbury, receiver Thyron Anderson, offensive tackles Spencer Folau and Brandon Phillips, guard Nick Steitz, defensive tackkle Jason Jefferson, defensive end/long snapper L.P. La. Douceur, linebacker Cie Grant, cornerback Dwight Ellick, safety Brent Hafford, kicker Nate Fikse and punter Rodney Williams.

With the release of Kingsbury, fifth round draft pick Adrian McPherson has apparently won the No. 3 quarterback position behind Aaron Brooks and Todd Bouman.

Hate to dash folks hope. But being that Mcpherson was views as the possible QB of the future for N.O., I just didn't see him being cut as an option.

Hey big D he is on their team as the 3 qb but your list has well over the 53 man limit.....I don't think they have updated any of their INFO since Katrinia and I don't really blame them.
