Now that hurts.

I was totally wrong on Steven Jackson. He's proven to be a special player. We passed on a special player, traded down and got a good player that said he was scared to fumble.

I laugh every time I hear someone say Parcells held him back or made him run scared. I didn't buy Tony Dorsett's logic either.

Julius Jones better have an All Pro season for us to even consider giving him a long term contract IMHO.
Steven Jackson is not a special player. He's pretty good, but I wouldn't classify him as an elite runner. He's in a good system in Stl and if he continues playing like he did last year, then I may re-think my position.

Some of this talk of missing time is crazy. This isn't a knee, an ankle, or a shoulder -- it's a collarbone. It's going to heal just fine and be as strong as ever. He only re-injured it in the first place because he rushed back to play in his last college game.

I don't even see why he'd miss any training camp. That'll have been, what, at least six months after he re-injured it. How long would a presumably hairline type of crack like that take to heal?

I would so love for this to be why we are able to get Petterson ..... he would have such a chip against the league when he was ready it would be like Randy Moss playing us.

it's kinda amazing to me that keith davis can get shot twice and it's a pattern and he's a suspect guy now.

peterson can get hurt in each of his 3 years of college ball and miss time but people blow that aside like a non-factor.

people do what they and for whatever reason what you see happen to them on a repeated basis will likely be...repeated.

peterson is a hell of a talent but he's also hurt a lot.

why will that change if he becomes a cowboy, or on any other team?

I agree about there being definite injury concerns with Peterson. But, he didn't get injured on purpose. Not sure, but I don't think Dallas tries to get him via a trade.

Injuries happen in football but none of his injuries (high ankle sprain or broken collar bone) will have a lasting effect on him. Davis being shot has nothing to do with football it has to do with hanging out at night clubs in the early morning hours.

I am having to re-think Jackson. He had a special year last year gaining the 5th most yards from scrimmage in NFL history. Even though Martz was not there, the Rams still ran a wide open offense finishing 3rd in pass attempts.

I thought Jackson and Julius Jones would both be good, solid backs, but I didn't see either as special. Special to me is Tony Dorsett and Emmitt Smith. So getting Julius plus an extra pick seemed like the better deal. Jackson is starting to approach special, but he does have to do it a few more times. Julius obvisously has not shown to be special, but he is solid.

I agree with you completely. Steven would have to follow-up his breakout year with another one for me to become a believer.

The wildcard to that trade is Spears. So far he hasn't lived up to his billing. But if he can produce more than one sack in a year and maybe a few more tackles, then I will think the trade a success.

Some may pan that trade now, because of hindsight. But it was good, sound logic then which were used on solid picks at the time.

and i doubt keith jumped in front of a gun on purpose either. my point is we condem one person for repeated "problems" but another is ok.

in vegas, seeing peterson injured 3 times the smart "money man" would bet that he'd get hurt again every year till the string breaks.

i fully realize he didn't / doesn't get hurt on purpose, but he does. time and time and time again. not likely to change.

The guy gained 1,900 yards his freshman year and played in 13 games. What did he miss?

Adrian Peterson will be a serviceable back in this league for maybe 3-5 years, then disappear just as fast his over-hyped ace arrived. He's INJURY PRON, how much MORE evidence do ppl need to see it for what it is?

Seems like 3 INCOMPLETE years at OU would send up enough red flags. Him coming out early was influenced 110% on his fears that his next injury at OU would end any shot he had at sniffing anything above the 3rd round in 08's draft.

"AD" = where he spends 50% of his time... the bench.
