After 2 or 4 games, does Morris get cut?

After Demontre Moore and Irving return from suspension, do we cut Morris now that Zeke is likely to play the full season? We really could use more depth elsewhere. Of course, it would be great if the coaching staff was comfortable enough with Rush by that point to cut Kellen...

I would hope not. Morris is the 2nd best RB on this team.

I don't see that happening, injuries should dictate that there is not a need to release him. If by some miracle that no one gets injured, then maybe he is on the bubble. I would keep him over DMC but Darren is a better fit for how the Cowboys use the 2nd back.

This^^^. If anyone read Broadus point in the mother site he said he thinks he should be #2 and is the better back over Dmac and he doesn't understand if the coaches think otherwise. I, like him, use the eyeball test. Dmac isn't awful, but he can't help but run up the guards butt on almost every play instead of waiting for the zone to open!

100%

He's criminally underrated around here. Release him but keep a stiff like Rod Smith around.

Well, either Morris or McFadden would have to go because neither plays special teams. Rod Smith is one of our best special teamers and his roster spot is secure IMO because of that. Morris is a better runner than McFadden IMO, but McFadden is a better third down back.

We'd be fools to cut Morris. As much as we're celebrating today, we need to tread lightly with the Zeke situation and need solid insurance. He's our second best back as was mentioned earlier in the thread. Injuries, suspensions etc. We need him.

I thought Alfred looked great this preseason,,, shiftier yet still a North/South runner. That's solid depth at a very important position on this team. Send Kellen to the PS if they need a spot.

Doesn't his entire salary become guaranteed after week 1?
Think they may keep him, even with his limited skill set.

If McFadden wasn't from Arkansas and had a first round pedigree he wouldn't start over Morris

I think it will be one of the guys we traded for since we then wouldn't have to give up a pick

He's gotta. There's no way he's active on game day and that roster spot will be needed once suspensions are served

the guy is basically a straight-line runner...IMO, he should be on the roster, but I don't see him ahead of DMac...the real question in this scenario is do we need Mr R.Smith?

I think given the health of the rookie DBs, Bene Benwikere shouldn't get comfortable. After that, injuries will likely dictate who gets released for Irving
This. Bene and an injury will cover the suspension returns.
