Like Parcells, Wade's defense time has past.

Look back, while he has produced some good games, overall his defense has been inconsistent. They do not dominate consistently like say the Ravens or the Steelers.

The reason for that is it is based completely on pressure. Either you sack the QB or you give up big plays.

It's not all about sacking the QB. I think Charles Haley taught us that. You just must pressure the QB. The idea is to dominate the line of scrimmage.

The Cowboys are giving teams 5+ seconds before the QB sees real pressure. They are not dominating the line of scrimmage.

Look at the Ravens, Giants, Steelers, Patriots. What is one of the main things they do? Overload. Why? Because only so many pass protectors appear on one side of the defense. The offense has no choice but to get rid of the ball quickly because an offense cannot dominate the line of scrimmage if it is overloaded.

Running a basic defensive package (what the Cowboys have resorted too) will not overload and hence, they cough up 5+ seconds of time for a QB to get rid of the ball.

Guys (and ladies) get ready for a year of emotional pain. This year is going to suck something fierce.

I was only kidding, dude.

I despise Wade Phillips, but even I can't blame him, or his "scheme", for terrible secondary play, weird flags and the mortal-ization of DeMarcus Ware.

But I know that's what's coming. Because everyone said the same thing about Parcells.

Wasn't talking about the numbers being an overreaction as you're absolutely right - its not like they're an opinion ;) We're getting better than weeks 1 and 2, which is good.

Really? Funny because our record wouldn't indicate that. Our offense is also declining while apparently our defense is inclining. Only QB we can seem to get to turn the ball over is Jake Delhomme and that's not us, that's just him.

Our o-line and running game seem to be the only thing that has improved since last years Philly game. Still a suspect secondary. Our pass rush is no where as lethal and we're certainly not creating many turnovers on defense. So I don't see how we're better on Defense.

Offense, already mentioned the line and running game. But our passing game is almost non existent, especially deep and I knew that would be the case. Our QB seems to be regressing. Hate to say this stuff but it is true. Only teams we have beat still have not won a game.

Our coaching is the usual porous outing. Other than the Panthers game, I don't see us out coaching our competition. Even the Tampa game we looked less coach savvy. Just had superior talent.

So, not sure where we are improving overall as a team when looking from week 1 and 2. This team still can't put together a complete game. That's probably because our offense, defense and special teams are all operated like separate organizations and do not correlate with the overall circumstances of the game.

Even though Wade is supposed to be HC, it's not like he mikes in Garrett from time to time and says "Jason, we're up 24 - 20, we just got the ball back and are running down these guys throat, do not throw the ball and keep running the rock. Our defense is tired since we have made them deal with 4 turnovers today, so they also need the rest". Or, "Jason, we can take the lead, we're on their 3 yard line and we're in 2nd down. Our o-line is pushing everyone around, do not throw 2 fades in a row, run the rock since we're the # 1 rushing team in the league as of this play".

Or how about. "Jason, we're down 17 - 10 on the road. We're within our opponents 5 yard line with 2 plays to go, no time outs and under 20 seconds to go. Look for Witten, Crayton, Martellus or even Tashard Choice out of the back field. Maybe call a play where our mobile QB can use his legs as an option, if need be, since our # 1 WR is out. But do not go to our 4th string WR twice in a row when a hall of fame CB is within his vicinity".

Anyways, just my point of view. We're not improving. We're lucky if we even remain stagnant from what I am seeing. It's a very ill feeling I am experiencing.

Winning cures all. Losing creates epidemics.

The Bills are 1-3 and TO is 5th in receptions on the team. I bet it's like an Ebola epidemic in Buffalo right about now considering he couldn't handle being second to Witten here in Dallas. :laugh2:
