Felix Jones has already surpassed Marion Barber as the lead rusher for the Dallas Cowboys.

He has on 53 more yards on 5 less attempts.

The difference between this offense with Felix starting and Marion starting is like night and day. It reminds me of when Romo replaced Bledsoe. We haven't had a real runner in Dallas in years.

And despite being 1-3, I am very excited to see where this offense can go. We haven't even worked Dez Bryant into the mix. When JG finally does that... We'll certainly have the best offense in the NFL if we don't already.

The only thing really holding us back now is our offensive line. I only see one way of us improving our offensive line this year. And we have just a few days left to do it.

The only undeniable thing that I saw out of this game is that Felix Jones has arrived. He had nearly more yards rushing in one game than Marion Barber did in the previous 3 combined. Thats a hard pill to swallow, but it isn't a hard concept to grasp. Barber is done, completely done.

I must say I was shocked to see Barber not getting many touches. I mean did it just dawn on them "hey let's use this guy more" 4 games into the season. It actually is a bit scary if that's the case.

The coaches probably thought they could get by with Barber and keep Felix's legs fresh until the stretch run.

It was only when things went extremely south that they decided having one of the best players on the team riding the bench wasn't going to work.

The coaches here will not give the young guys an opportunity voluntarily.

The veteran has to fail horribly, get injured or be released before the younger players get a chance.

And thats a problem especially with the running back position.

Felix was the de facto starter, but im still not happy. Choice should have been spelling him, not Barber.

Say it with me -

Marion Barber is not a feature back.

Said it then, saying it now...

I always like MB3, but I liked him in the role he was in when we had the Robot. We just needed someone to replace the robot and keep MB3 where he was at his best.

I can't disagree with any of this. Felix looked good last night with increased touches. Definitely something to build on.. Let's hope Garrett's scattered brain cells share this opinion.

Personally I think this was Tashard Choice's best game all season

Disagree...

As stated, Felix showed that he can gain a "feel" for the game with increased touches. IMO, Choice would do the same if asked to carry the load. He won't be carrying the load in Dallas. That is pretty much fact. However, he will carry it somewhere else in the NFL and he will do it well.

This is only beginning to prove that trying to utilize three talented backs in the confines of a game isn't going to work. A RB needs touches to get into the flow of the game. Felix got his yesterday and he did well.

I believe the way the carries were distributed yesterday was just about perfect maybe give felix about 5 more, but the amount Barber and choice got was perfect

IMO this was one of the bright sides of yesterdays "game" Felix showed he is an everydown back. He not only looked explosive, he ran hard and broke many tackles. One of my favorite Cowboys by far
